Ok, so I have been doing lots of strength training lately. I have done some hamstring workouts (kettlebell swings, nordic curls, hamstring curls on machine) but I think I am a bit quad dominant from all the squats. For now I have dropped the strength training and mostly focus on intervals on a treadmill. Since I think I am quad dominant I am running with an incline (around 0.5-1.5) to target my posterior chain more and also mimic outdoor running.
I am usually running for 1m (x10) and rest period in the first intervals is usually 1m but in the later ones sometimes I rest up to even 2m to keep up with the pace. I am also resting 2-3m after 5 intervals. I would say that I am on maybe 90% effort. Is this stupidity? I am just thinking how much it would suck to pull a hammy on a treadmill doing 17 km/h lol. And I am also reading about people having their career ruined after pulling their hamstrings and what not.
I really love to push myself to the limit but I also obviously do not want to injury myself. Should I instead run on a pace where I can comfortably rest just 1m on all the intervals or any other advice in general? I don't have much experience in running.
Btw, does "power breather" work at all?
