I am a 1:55, 3:58, 4:17, and 15:30s runner at 21. Peak Mileage has hit 60 but not consistently due to injury last summer. I'm usually around the 50m mark. With these PRs I can't seem to get it done in cross. 29:50 being my PR. It seems I can get it done on the track but can't on grass. For 3 years it has been this way. It can be frustrating knowing you are a top guy for your team but can't contribute during cross. Which has made summer training in the past frustrating on its own.
I was curious to see if anyone has dealt with this problem before and potential tips. I could just be a b#@%$ about it but doesn't seem to be the case as soon as indoor rolls around. I try to get on grass every Wednesday 3/4 LR and Sunday get on gravel for LR. We focus on hills on Mondays before workout Tuesday and secondary workout Friday until the season comes around.
Maybe I am missing a piece to the puzzle I'm just not seeing? First time reaching out to anyone besides coaches/teammates/friends&family. With all this information and any other, you would like to know I am looking forward to feedback but know LetsRun has its tendencies. With this in mind some goals for the summer:
Run Fast
Take care of the body (Hurdles 3-4x a week, Myrtl after each run, Stretch
Core everyday/every other day
Be consistent
Hills, Hills, and More Hills
Skip the 28s and 27s altogether (Extreme but anything's possible with the right mindset)
