My 10 year old son is thin as a rail. He gets picked on at school for being skinny by the fat kids. So, maybe the tide is turning and we need skinny activists.
My daughter was a two sport athlete with a healthy BMI. She was picked on so much at school with "are you sure you are not anorexic" and "better thick than a stick" that she developed an eating disorder that was nearly fatal. So you would think these were hoodlums? No. Daughter of a Social Studies teacher was among them. 27min 5K runner who insisted on being a Captain. That is true leadership. Someone else quipped that that she should focus on running and the girl started balling and did not stop until she got that other girl suspended from the team. And, yes, in the end, she was a Captain.
My daughter was nowhere close to anorexic. We do not speak of that any more, but I will never blame her for lacking compassion for the fat, the unhealthy, those who do not suffer from being overweight but rather from lacking the opportunity to be bullies.

Sad, heartbreaking and only partially true. Which part is it false? Does it matter?
If I would have heard something like that (an experiences which was nonetheless painful for us), I would have reacted with anger.
How much of what each of us is saying on this site is true? How much emotion should we each allow towards what we read knowing that someone else might want to sway our vote or to recruit us for some "cause"?
When activism is required of any good citizen, we are pushed to find that cause to get center stage.
I apologize for causing anger. I wanted to make a point.
In other words, Trumpers are not conservatives. I get it!
Since you are an effeminate guy I understand why you can't get past Trump's obnoxious responses to the trolling leftist propaganda machine, but if you try to use a little critical thinking (vs. emotional response) you will see that Trump's official positions and actions on most every important issue are in proper alignment.
Lol, what? You've called others "low IQ" in this thread and others, yet I don't think you even know what "leftism" means. Maybe most CEOs of large companies are liberals, but there isn't a single one that I'm aware of who is a leftist.
Well, then you are very unaware and uninformed then.
Or are you the delusional leftist that think's leftist values are "center" or just to the left of "center"?
At least I understand correct apostrophe usage.
I'd be interested in hearing more about these "leftist values" you mention or what you think leftist ideology consists of, because I'm pretty sure you're probably pretty far off the mark.
Both major US parties are liberal parties. Neither are leftist. The democratic party is pretty centrist with a sizeable faction of left-leaning (social) liberals, some true centrists, and a handful of right-leaning liberals. There are not really any prominent leftist politicians in the DP or in US politics as a whole. The closest we have would probably be Bernie, Warren, and AOC, but they're all still fairly liberal.
The GOP is at its core a party based in a strain of conservativism that prioritizes classic liberalism and limited power of the federal government, and which is obviously not left wing. It also contains some far-right, Christian conservative, libertarian, and populist factions, which are also obviously not left wing.
The liberal/conservative split in the US is a false dichotomy; the democrats and republicans are two sides of the same coin. There is no mainstream leftist movement in American society at the moment, it's just that morans like you who have no idea what "leftism" means and who are easily manipulated by certain corporate "news" networks have grown to associate the term with wokeness and progressive liberalism.

Trump lowered taxes on rich people and big corporations.
He is in favor of individual freedom for cisgender heterosexual white men.
He takes no responsibility whatsoever for his own actions.
He pardoned many criminals associated with him like Manafort, Flynn, Stone and Bannon.
He started trade wars with China, Canada, Mexico, EU and almost anyone else who did not bribe him.
Exactly! The only prominent leftists in this country are dead or in jail. Democrats are not "left" just because they embrace socially liberal values and rhetoric. The f***ing DNC eviscerated Bernie for daring to endorse an economic vision that makes Sweden look like 1930s USSR. You all need to turn off the cable news and learn some history.
"Wokeism" is a cynical ploy by our corporate oligarchs to sell more crap that we don't need because they know the young people like it and the old folks will keep buying stuff anyway as long as they can go on FB and b!tch about it. At the boardroom level nobody cares about anything but hitting the numbers.

Being overweight/obese is so prevalent in the US that it's seen as normal, while people are actually at a healthy weight are often perceived as too thin. On the other hand, in other countries, these individuals are viewed as normal size while obese individuals are viewed as "huge".
I see poorly behaved kids everywhere these days. Usually the common denominator is a single mom as the "parent." The single mom typically doesn't set a good example which is unsurprising because she failed to get into a compatible relationship/find an adequate partner. The kid(s), especially boys, don't respect the single moms authority anyways. These kids are undisciplined, emotionally weak, disrespectful, they don't have any work ethic and are entitled.
Lol - the single mom has failed or not set a good example? How many relationships have you had break down? Where is the father in all of this? Seeing a good example too? Absent, while the mom is picking up the pieces. I'd say being out of a child's life is way, way more of a problem. And you see this all of the time. If it was more of a 50:50 split, with single dads taking care of children, it would be more fair. But they don't step up to the plate often.
5 pages of arguing about a thread title that isn’t even true. Classic LRC.
One health department at one university says "we shouldn't stigmatize fat people," therefore, THE ENTIRE LEFT WING AND DEMOCRATIC PARTY ARE ATTACKING SKINNY PEOPLE
