Why? Do you recommend that he keep spikes on for 30 minutes straight prior to the race? Going to the bathroom, walking to the bullpen, etc is just more comfortable in a full pair of shoes with a heel.
No he didn't. He won in typical Murphy fashion and saluted. From what I interpreted as, "I'm back..." Murphy is always gonna be a threat. He'll run a few mile/1500m races then sharpen up for that 800m just in time.
I thought the next video (in race mic) was just as good! Loved seeing some actual personality. I laughed so hard when he told the massage therapist he got sick from eating scallops in Des Moines & the guy goes what do you expect eating seafood in the midwest. Then his back & forth with his partner was more of the same. Obviously she's fully supportive but giving him some pushback for the celebration & the speedsuit made me laugh again. His YouTube should pick up some steam. With all of the running/endurance sports Youtubers, I can't believe nobody has thought of this. I can't believe a live meet hasn't thought of this. It works well in all of the major sports. Do it yourself if nobody else will.
I was kinda suprised how out of the loop he was re: pace setters. "I heard the pacers are going out in :50" and he had go up to Sanchez at the start line to confirm the pacing plan? Would have thought meet organizers would advise all athletes of the pacing.
Previous to this he told the Atlanta Track Club guy, Sanchez has only ran " " I forgot what exactly but it wasn't no where near going out in 50 point. He came out looking cocky and confident telling Sanchez, what's the pace like bro, you really going out that fast..?!
Why would his wife care about the salute? Is this now being contrived into some racist thing?
You literally only said this because his wife is black.
It genuinely scares me that people lack critical thinking skills to this extent, and are still allowed to vote.
Speaking of his wife, Ariana Washington, she was a very good sprinter at Oregon with career bests of 11.01 and 22.21. She made the relay pool for the 2016 Olympics and I think ran just one more year before retiring. I was surprised when she retired but maybe injuries or just wanting to move on with her life affected her decision.
did anyone notice in his last video he talked about having to get some injections? No wonder these people are getting popped. You have to really trust someone who is taking a syringe and a needle to your gluteus maximus.
Dude makes some weird life choices and seems a bit unstable but whatever, glad it's not me. We'll see if his running is getting back to what it was. Not likely though...
Was anyone else surprised at his pre-race shoe routine?
Putting the spikes on for a couple strides 30 min before the race, then putting the trainers back on, then putting the spikes on 5 min before the race is psycho behavior.

Of course not. I'm saying why wouldn't he just wear his trainers until 5-10 min before the race and put his spikes on when he's ready to go? Why put them on take them off put them on again? Can't recall ever seeing that before.
Check it out here! Clayton dropped an awesome video as a follow up to his pre race mic’d up, he wore a mic in the race in Puerto Rico it was awesome to get this sort of inside access and what a video it was! Check it out here
Jesus christ, he is a beautiful man! I don't know how I missed this all these years. Must be the speed suit ;) and all that panting while "miked up".

Seriously??
We were doing this warmup routine/shoe to spike to shoe to spike at my small HS 30 years ago.
Not exactly a trade secret. Warmup, slow strides, spike up for fast strides, back to trainers, bathroom, chill, warmup again, spikes, race

In her freshman year at Oregon, Ariana Washington was also the NCAA champion in both the 100 & 200. I believe that may be the only time that a freshman has won both titles.

And what, exactly, are the weird life choices that he makes? What makes him unstable?
On the other hand, a putz like yourself, that sits in mommy’s basement and anonymously spews useless drivel, makes some pretty weird choices and is not stable.
Murphy looks good. Hopefully he continues to hone his form and gets back on top. He is racing against a great field this Saturday in the Birmingham DL meet. That will give him a good idea of where he is and where he needs to be.
