Sum Dum Guy - you may be correct as to his motive, but if he wants to work in the schools, he made a wise choice.

In my opinion it's not OK because there's a power imbalance. It's like if it was a doctor. And more so because it involves schools and the position of authority has an age dimension to it (teacher - student). It would be possibly different if it was at a university as both are over the age of 18 and as far as I'm concerned 18 is definitely old enough to make your own decisions, whether you're in university or not, but it's different with high school. So no, I don't think it's OK.
It is not different at a university.
It is absolutely not allowed.
My University makes faculty take numerous trainings to make sure no one is unclear on this.
