Kerr never looked on it at all. He didn't go with Kipsang from the gun and when the kicking started, it looked like he had very little in the tank. Hoare was a bout where I'd expect him to be, but I thought Kerr was going to try and assert some dominance in races this year. On the other hand, Kipsang looked supreme, a real threat to Jakob.
The BBC coverage really pisses me off sometimes. There are events happening right now, yet they show people talking for half an hour and it makes people switch off. There were also events earlier and they could have shown some of that but instead they just... OK, they're showing the B races so I feel a bit better about it. I do think there is too much talking. I also think they should show aspects of the new track if possible, it's an amazing facility for the area! I'm glad the Diamond League is back on the BBC anyway.
Canada gets the BBC feed on CBC. I enjoy the commentary on the "event " . Keely looks like she could run a 1:54 . Interesting that they were saying she may run 400's this year at a diamond league event .
Haven’t Kerr/Hoare been talking big game about not getting soft in the USA and pushing the pace in races? Seems like this was the perfect time for either guy to make a run at Kipsang. Instead, he controlled it and beat them easily. Good race for Katir as well, I didn’t think even in a good race he would beat Hoare, but he must be rounding into form.

I don´t know if Kipsang looked great but he was for sure the best at this meet as he was in Doha. I, however, still doubt he can beat Jakob if the latter is fully recovered from Covid.
People has questioned how Jakob will do if Tim and McSweyn are not pushing the pace as before. I will say Jakob shall follow the pacers as Tim used to do. In this way he will force Kipsang and the other top runners to go close to their limits.
I suppose Jakob - with good pacing - can run 1:51 for the first 800m and below 2:20 for the first 1000m (he ran 2:21 for the first 1000m in his indoor 1500m WR run in February) and in that scenario the guy with best aerobic capacity will win.
how does ramsden even get invited to all these international meets any more - he's national champ I think, but basically he's a national level runner these days

On the whole I actually think the coverage was very good, it was just the talking at the start when I knew the B races were in action and I really wanted them to air. Apart from that it was great.
