And there were none of those interest-killing, time-killing, and boring or repetitive commercials on Peacock, for me. I presume it's the same everywhere. Understood that the money paid by sponsors benefits the sport and broadcasting, and paying appearance fees, but, still, I'd rather not have to deal with commercials. (I don't have TIVO or the like to be able to fast-forward through them.) Understood, also, that Peacock isn't available for so many.
They can't blame conditions for the times. It was around 16/17C, low humidity, and hardly any wind in the stadium. The sprinters would have liked warmer but the distance events had it good. It was mainly the men that refused to go with the pace, the women ran well.
Could also be a slow track. I think this is the first event held there.
McSweyn is getting old. He'll be 27 in the beginning of June. His focus should be on transitioning to longer distances if he doesn't break 3:35 for the 1500 this season.
Old? He’s only 27 but I guess it depends on how long he’s been running. I’m not sure that his size would be suitable for the 5000 m but having said that he is similar in size and weight to a former Australian who was super efficient at 5000 m, Craig Mottram.
McSweyn didn't get old overnight. He's still suffering from long COVID. On the positive side, he was faster than last time out in Doha where he ran 3:47 or 3:49. But without him pushing the pace the whole way you may not get super fast circuit times.
Yes. We need Stewie back. The races are boring without him. Maybe he needs better medical care/intervention - something he could get with a lot of $$ in the USA, but probably not Australia. Just waiting it out doesn’t seem to be working. Maybe LetsRun can start a medical fund for him which we can donate to? I’d happily donate. The 1500m is boring without him.

And what’s your big plan to treat him medically? All the money in the world doesn’t deconstruct what a virus potentially does to a body.
Allow him a medical exemption to use a bike. Most of these guys pace off bikes in practice so they will be on board.

What is this? Australia isn't a third world country, lol. So typical that you think everything can be solved by throwing money at it.

Haven’t Kerr/Hoare been talking big game about not getting soft in the USA and pushing the pace in races? Seems like this was the perfect time for either guy to make a run at Kipsang. Instead, he controlled it and beat them easily. Good race for Katir as well, I didn’t think even in a good race he would beat Hoare, but he must be rounding into form.
