Hate to bang on about it, but hard looking at Niyonsaba and her schedule if she pulls it off. Win over 3000 over Faith Kipyegon in Doha, 7hr travel to Birminghan to dispatch multiple sub 14:30 women including Taye, a 14:14 woman over 5000. Hop on another 10hr flight or two to Prefontaine to set the world record in the 2mile versus ??
Would be a very impressive 3 weeks. Not impossible, but just very hard to do.
Everything is possible when you are the only person in the race with testes!
W800: Goule vs. Hodkinson and you'd have to favor Keely a lot. Hurta will be of interest to US fans. Is the 800 her event or the 15?
Hurta is equally good at the 800 and 1500. Unfortunately, in her case "good" means only about 10th in the United States in each event, because there are so many fast American women.
I think 5000 suits niyonsaba and fantu worku less than last week but I can still see 7 or 8 under 14.43 here. I call that deep. The girl with the WL at the half will be better suited here and if conditions are better could be very quick
I hope so. Conditions look good, 17C, 10mph wind, low humidity. I still think this will be a dominant win for Niyonsaba. Her strength over the 10k in her first year in the event was impressive, and she carries her mid-d speed. I wouldn't be surprised to see her run sub 14:15 this year
Sad that at least one has withdrawn, the Ethiopian with the WL
The BBC coverage really pisses me off sometimes. There are events happening right now, yet they show people talking for half an hour and it makes people switch off. There were also events earlier and they could have shown some of that but instead they just... OK, they're showing the B races so I feel a bit better about it. I do think there is too much talking. I also think they should show aspects of the new track if possible, it's an amazing facility for the area! I'm glad the Diamond League is back on the BBC anyway.

Cannot see niyonsaba on the start list. Might be flying over the Atlantic early because Hassan is in her two mile WR attempt in 8 days
Although I do wish they didn't have PR commentating.
We have different commentators in the US today.
DId anyone hear Paul Swangard talk about the "conflict" in Ukraine? I assume that was an innocent mistake. Isn't that a Russian talking point?
I think most of them are good. I really like Gabby Logan, Denise Lewis, and Steve Cram is insightful. Have not heard a lot of your commentators, I hope it's good and they don't bring politics into it. It is going cold :(.
