Does anyone have any advice and training programs to help me improve this much?
To start, this time would be a massive drop compared to my current XC 5k PR of just 16:37. And yes I know this goal is very outrageous and that their are many posts similar to this of HS runners finally deciding they want to be good but ultimately it’s to late. Despite this I still feel I could achieve it given the right training.
Although my track season isn’t over yet I’m very eager for XC. For track I averaged about 40-45 mi a week pre season and in season now I do about 30mi give or take. With this mileage I was able to achieve so far:
51-400m
1:55-800m (confident I’m in 1:52 shape as I can negatively split a 1:55)
1600m-4:19
I feel like my main draw back to my training is mileage so obviously increase that, so don’t really know what to do from their.
