Well he did have a 4 year ban for EPO.
Well he did have a 4 year ban for EPO.
Asbel Kiprop is right. Much respect.
#1- "There's No Performance enhancing drug to run fast. This is just a scam."
Exactly. Drugs don't help anyone, but they do harm and kill many people.
#2- "Give all humans EPO & let them run a 3:26 in 1500m."
Exactly
Give drugs to the OP, to the Brojos, to all the drug worshipers and let them run 3:26.
No, it's not going to happen.
They're not going to be any faster than they've been in the past.
"There's No Doping. No need to Lie
— Asbel Kiprop 3:26 OGW. (@KipropAsbel)"
That's the obvious truth and I've been saying the same thing for decades.
Good for Asbel Kiprop for speaking up and telling the truth.
Many more people, especially runners, should be speaking up and telling the truth.
Too bad these fraud coaches and agents who encourage doping/are doping apologists and profit from doping are enabled to run rampant in the sport. They are a massive problem. With them around, the sport will always be dirty. Aden, Berardelli, Canova, Rosas to name a few.
That pharma petro-chemical drugs help anyone to be healthier or faster is TOTAL BS.

How brave of you to accuse them anonymously - even if you were right.

Correction (someone changing my posts?):
He said that drugs are worthless and don't help anyone to run faster.
He’s absolutely logical. He’s right , it’s not possible to run 3:30 without doping , and give all the people all the EPO in the world and rewards of millions for hitting 3:26 and see the tiny , minute fraction that will come close.
Fantastic. Who cares that he cheated Nick Willis out of gold if me and you wouldn't be able to run 3:26 without all the EPO in the world? Just don't express these views outside of the bubble of LetsRun, because you will look just as insane as Kiprop.
I'm pretty sure any half-decent undercover journalist could sidle up to Kiprop in a bar, and a few beers later, have a major scoop on his hands.
A good counter challenge would be to tell Kiprop to get a world/Olympic medal or break 3:30 without doping.
Lets dope someone like ingebrigsten to the gills and see how long that 3:26 stays relevant.
Its like having $900,000, stealing the last $100,000 and calling yourself a millionaire, only to taunt others by saying “you should all steal $100,000, I still bet most of you won’t be a millionaire”
Running faster is not cheating anyone, except whiny little crybabies like you and Willis.
Since you both think drugs are so great, you must have both tried them, right?
Whoops! You still can't run 3:26 nor anything close to it.
So much for that bogus theory.

He was taking them for the recovery benefits obv
Not every one who takes tren looks like Mr.O likewise only a very small percentage will ever run under 3:30 even if on epo. So your point is? Every one response to exercise and PEDs will be different.
Performance enhancing drugs enhance performance. Whether they help 1%, 10% or 0.1% is going to depend on the person, what they're taking, how they respond, the event, and a myriad of other factors. But to claim performance enhancing drugs don't enhance performance at all, means you're not to be taken seriously.
Athletes are taking them and risking their life's work, their future, their name and reputation, for a reason.
Precisely. The best way to counter the “PEDs don’t do anything meaningful” argument is to simply ask why people take them.
Im personally not tempted to take a drug that will make me die at 50, especially if that drug is doing supposedly nothing for me.
To go further in my analogy and why this is so unfair:
Let’s say Nick Willis has $950,000. Nick however isn’t willing to steal any money, so Kiprop is now wealthier than him, and therefor wins the olympics and is the millionaire. If no stealing was allowed, Nick very well could have had a shot at winning.
Its not about what your average Joe could do on EPO. It’d be funny to see overweight middle aged men cranking sub 5 miles, but Kiprop is deflecting in this statement and he knows it. It’s about Kiprops competition. If that entire Olympic final was doped to the gills on EPO, Tren, Thyroid meds, whatever, would Kiprops performance have looked so impressive? Would he have even won?
I wonder if Gentleman Tim appreciates Kiprop's Twitter profile header?
