No, that is not how it went. They did not ask Bush about Tuohy. Bush brought that up herself - it seemed to give her confidence.

Bush ran away from the field and finished the race looking relaxed. The announcers said that it appeared like she could do do another one while everyone else was best over gasping. The thing really jumped out to us at our watch party was that Tuohy avoided Bush after the race. The rift was obvious. Competition has made both runners better.
Touhy is now capable of running about 15:00 so obviously she was running for points and it doesn’t matter whether she finished 1st or 2nd. Some of you like to make judgements over meaningless races and performances.

Watch the race again. Watch the 5 minutes following the race again. It was the first thing my daughter pointed out. She said "Those two do not like one another". It isn't a bad thing. They are both running very fast.
It would only makes sense that those kinds of feelings might arise from time to time. If KT did feel any negativity, she would do her very best to hide it. There was a photo of them on the podium where KT looked disappointed, but again that would be a natural response and nothing to read too much into. I'm sure she was also happy for her friend.
If you had been working your tail off for the past several months with the 5000 NCAA title in mind, and then your friend handed you a loss as your final note in that very distance right before it's go time, it would be hard to not be a little miffed. She is still human, you know.

Sam Bush looked great and did have an amazing kick. She's definitely a contender
I think kaitlin was disappointed, I think she felt she could do better... But it's not easy to run a 1500 like she did from start to finish to lead the race and to beat some really good runners by that much so I don't think she realized how much that would take out of her
Also I think she was pretty emotional after winning the 1500 so that probably also added to taking some of her energy...
At first it looked like Tuohy was snubbing her but then you realized she was tired and likely just catching her breath. Bush mentioned her in a positive manner right after and they were talking/joking right after. So I’d say nothing to see really, friends and competitors.
they literally hugged after the race and walked across the infield together smiling and laughing. You people are idiots and soooo creepy. It also looked like Tuohy was pretty content with 2nd to a teammate on the home stretch. She kept checking over her shoulder to make sure fagans wasn't coming up on her and cruised in comfortably.
I know, right? Did you see how after the race, Tuohy smacked Bush on the hand? That's basically assault! And then the way they both bared their teeth at each other like a couple of wolves about to throw down?
Bush put 4 seconds on the field all in the last lap.
Nichols of CO just took Pac-12 5000 in 15:47.9 being at almost the exact same time as Busy and Tuohy with 800 to go. She had the 10,000 in her from 2 days ago, nut nothing earlier today.
* Bush and other typos.
tuohy got a target on her back not only from the ncaa runners but from sam bush as well.. after all... track is an individual sport. and they train together. of course theres competition
you chimpz assume tuohy was snubbing her despite tuohy giving her low five and congratulating her then getting some water.. but do not talk about how sam bush did not help pace tuohy on virginia challenge ??
it was not because she was tired running a slow 1500m ... the other pacers ran a faster 1500m!! it was because she simply didnt want to .. other teammates helped tuohy, she didnt feel like doing the same
All you N C State parents can gush over your girls but remember there are 10 Ethiopan 8th graders that can beat them.
You are correct. They are competitors before teammates.
EPO is a hell of a drug.
Anyway this thread is a dumpster fire of imagined snubs and rivalries.

What kind of life will you NCState parents have when your darling girls are grown up with real lives?
Keep thinking that. But her inner hatred for losing is what fuels her to greatness. The day she really puts the team ahead of herself, she becomes just another NCAA all american who never wins.

My guess is that if they're well-adjusted, they will accept that they are grown up and be excited for them as they enter a new phase of their lives.
One of my kids was an intercollegiate athlete and another still is and is a junior. The one that graduated was All-American in soccer, got a degree in chemistry, and will be starting medical school this year. I was excited for her as a student-athlete but I'm even more excited as she begins, as you coined it, "grown up real lives." My kid that is still in college is doing very well as a track and XC athlete. She is not an All-American like her older sister but still has been a scoring member for her team at the national level in NCAA competitions.
I have enjoyed the athletic careers of both of them and have cheered them on. Do you see an issue with that? My guess is that you you were not very athletic so you were hoping to have a child that was athletic so that you could live vicariously through them. That didn't happen so now you have a lot of latent anger.
You obviously haven't followed the postings or you would see that a few are not well adjusted.
Two things:
- who has a watch party for a conference track meet? And at an age where you have sentient children? And then posts about supposed rifts between teenage girls? Grow up.
- if you have to speculate, you aren't an insider
