I’m a rising sophomore in hs, and I want to break my high school’s 5k record of 16:11. This track season I made huge improvement from a 19:06 XC 5k to a 4:57 1600 and around 11 3200. Off of about 35 miles a week during the winter. But my track season was interrupted by injuries and I was never able to set any prs latter in the season. I really want to break this record as this would be huge for a sophomore and increasing mileage this winter helped me get my track times down. What do the people of let’s run think a reasonable mileage to build up too, to accomplish my goal?
