You may be a bit ambitious about 'getting obliterated at worlds', as that implies she would have to qualify for worlds. I think if she does USA (still some doubt if her 15:14 makes it) it would be going for 1 more pr and to get some 'big meet experience'. I don't really believe she can make the world team.
I like your idea about 1500 NCAA / 5k us and college in general. Her long term future is at distance, but she's strong enough to be competitive at 1500 w Heymach, Vissa, Degenero etc.
2021.06.12 NCAA Women's Track and Field ChampionshipsWomen's 5000mSaturday, June 12, 2021Hayward Field, Eugene, OregonThis video is an original broadcast and...
he mostly uploads acc and ncaa cross country races, and most specially just wins?? coz i dont think he uploaded 2020 ncaa xc race .. but he uploaded 2021.. anyways i dont think cylonwolf will upload katelyn's acc race 😔
im just waiting for the video to be sent by someone very kind, ill upload it tomorrow .. hopefully
What smooth running form from head to toe. So relaxed in her facial expression as she gradually ratchets it up during the final lap. She is the real deal.
I think the 5000 is a smart choice. You have to choose one or the other as a double is not viable. I think the Standord senior has run 4:04 so it would be a very competitive race. Plus the indoor mile champ will also be in it.
how will katelyn become a mile champ if coach henes makes her run 3000m and 5000m :(( as they are a "distance" program
which event will be sacrificed?
nc state could also win the dmr title with vess, jada, bush, tuohy
the full video will be shared on youtube tomorrow! here guys!! watch this clip first!
katelyn tuohy finished ran 4:06 and finished in 63 but was not even winded, she finished and did a celebratory fist pump!!! amazing!! she really wanted this win !!!
tuohy runs like a machine, in a good way, very efficient runner
The contrast of the agony on the face of Skyring with 250 to go vs. the serenity of Tuohy is phenomenal in this clip. It is often overemphasized how a runner looks easy, but Tuohy really does look like she is just cruising in the zone.
When runners have to decide what race they will run at regionals?
I'm curious does anyone know how it works? I guess the 5K makes sense because she probably does have a better chance to win that and that's probably more in line with what the future holds... But still would love to see her do a season of 800 1500 focus... I think she doesn't realize how fast she could be and anyway that would be cool.... I think she might be able to double in a couple years and win both at NCAA
Hello EVERYONE!! I received Katelyn's race video~ the FULL RACE + Interview!!! It has now been scheduled on my youtube channel!! The video goes live today at 8:15 GT 10:00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the moments after the race are so heartwarming, all the girls were so happy, and they were so happy for katelyn too, when coach henes and katelyn hugged ,, truly a core memory!
And I really hope she doesn't go pro this summer. She's THRIVING in college.
With the new NIL rules, it would not make any sense to leave a college system that is working to go pro in my opinion. In the past, there was zero money in college sports so the financial incentive was there to make the jump. Tuohy is one of the most popular college runners right now as evidenced by her 77,000 instagram followers (comparable to Abby Steiner's 80,000). Sure, she can make more money as a pro but is it really worth it? How much money does a 20-yo need? She has a full scholarship to a great school, is in a system under Henes where she is clearly thriving, can sign NIL deals and make a descent amount of money, and still enjoy the low-stress life of a college student. There is no need to rush the jump into "adult world."
