Joe Falcon at 116 lbs benched 240 and with a bunch of football players around him was trying 250. I also recall someone saying he squatted a great deal but couldn't find that story.
Arkansas senior Joe Falcon is never quite so comfortable as when he is stalking something...or someone. Most weekday mornings, after a four- to six-mile
This is very impressive. Good for Symmonds. His squat had great depth at over 1.85x body weight and his deadlift was over 2.25x, great for someone who’s only recently gotten seriously into powerlifting.
Any decent 800m runner can lift about that much relative to body weight including Nick himself in the off season when he weighed 160.
Jealous? I'm 25 years older and 25 pounds lighter and never pretended to be much of an athlete.
He's pretty arrogant to challenge people on his YouTube channel. You'd think a former world class athlete would have a bit of humility. I don't remember Joe Falcon challenging runners to a bench press competition.
The fastest 400 and deadlift? Big deal there are other 38 year olds still competing in their respective disciplines on an international level not chasing novelty events.
Again I'm impressed with anyone committed to fitness but Symmonds' ego is much bigger than his deadlift.

Yea, Nick is supposedly training for powerlifting? If thats true he is not a natural for pure strength. That bench is routine for many people people I grew up with. I would have guessed at least 325 for Nick with training and his body type. I dont think any of us ever squatted that low, so i cant comment.
update: he hit the 1100 total on his own. but looks like that deadlift strength is peaking.... Guess 500/5:00 not possible this year. he got a lot of chub bulking. he will need to be deadlifting 550 and cut down
I set some new PR's at my powerlifting meet last week, but I'm pretty sure that I left some weight on the table in each lift. So I decided to bring it back t...
