We had a pool table in our garage when I was a kid. At a out 15 I would like on my back and recreate album covers on the underside of the pool table. I was like a punk-arsed Michelangelo, bahaha. Rush 2112, Led Zeppelin covers,Ted Nugent, Cream, stuff like that. The underside of the table is covered with that. They still have that pool table, I should go take pictures before it gets tossed. I'm 61 now and would just like to see that stuff again.
I didn’t say that was bad.
I was listening to the album at the exact same as the thread was created, and I thought that was a weird coincidence.
On the album they covered:
Jesus Doesn’t want me for a Sunbeam - Vaselines
The Man Who Sold the World- David Bowie
Plateau - Meat Puppets
Oh Me - Meat Puppets
Lake of Fire - Meat Puppets
Where Did You Sleep Last Night - Lead Belly
So they did 8 of theirs and 6 covers.
It’s a cool blend, especially at the end of the band’s career where they had tons of songs of their own to choose from.
Hey, the Beatles did a bunch of covers and they weren’t bad song writers.
Nothing can or ever will top Dark Side of the Moon.

Looking at some old YouTube videos of Nirvana Unplugged reminds me of how much MTV turned to crap after the mid 90s. And now MTV basically doesn't exist.
If Kurt Cobain hadn't killed himself shortly afterward, nobody would give a rip about that average performance.
If you're gonna idolize a junkie rocker, there are a lot of much less pathetic options than a benzo case who blew his own brains out. Anthony Kiedis, Steven Tyler, Iggy Pop, and yeah David Bowie whose song he covered badly.
I saw Bowie live three times, he was great.

Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
