Height matters because taller men make more money, are more confident, and have more romantic success. The reasons for these advantages become apparent when ...
If "Scott" is willing to pay 75K just because he hates being 5'7, I can imagine he's going to be spending a lot of money in his life due to low self esteem, self-worth. He'll just find another imperfection to obsess over.
I'm 5'8" I don't have a problem getting women. I don't have a problem with my height. I've never had a problem getting a job.
I've been told that I project confidence but not arrogance.
I agree, you have to have some self esteem issues to get that surgery.

5'8" is not bad at all 👍 I wish I was 5'8" (I'm 5'5.75" officially...5'6" with shoes).
If I'm talking with a 5'8" guy or gal, I have to look up slightly at them. Also, if we're standing in front of a mirror or a large window, they appear significantly taller than me in the reflection.
I didn't think height was that was a big deal until I changed my height on my dating profile from 5'6" to 5'8." And what do you lnow - all of a sudden I get more likes than I've gotten before. A great feeling but I'll have some explaining to do when I meet some of them in person. Lol 🤣

Funny how women can filter by height (something men have no control over)
But men cannot filter by weight (something women have complete control over)

Yep, that's true of anyone that is getting elective cosmetic surgery of any sort.
Maybe.
I used to have four very large moles on my back. I hated them from the time I was a child until I finally had them removed in my 20s. I'm in my 40s now and still have a moment of happiness when I see my mole-free back in the mirror.
Being insecure over being 5'7" is pretty lame. But I think for people with cosmetic problems outside the norm, like say a man that is 5'1", surgery that brings you back to the norm can be a wonderful thing and doesn't necessarily indicate you'll spend the rest of your life obsessing over other imperfections.
Interesting read. I think Scott will have ongoing issues, however. I'm 5'8" but have never been self conscious about it. In my 20's, there was that song by Randy Newman "Short People" (got no reason to live) but it never bothered me. Oh well, to each his own.
I am also 5’8” tall and it never bothered me. The guy in the article probably would have been better off hitting the gym and putting on some muscle to improve his self-confidence instead of paying $75k for a leg-lengthening procedure. It would not surprise me if his legs have issues as he ages since he did something so unnatural to them. If them only lengthened the part of his legs below the knees, I would think that his legs might not look disproportionate and maybe he’ll have knee pain at some point.
It is sad that someone has such emotional pain and low self-esteem that he decided to do something so drastic.

You just don't get it, do you. You're 5'8", but this guys was only 5'7". FIVE FOOT SEVEN!!!. He saw guys like you and realized if he could just be a little bit taller, like you, all his demons would go away.
Crazy. Sad. OK, let me put it this way. I'll admit I'm 6'1", but I've been bald since I was 21. At 30 I fell in love with this SoCal hottie, and she liked me too. But she's like, "Sweetie, you should use Rogaine and start lifting weights." My reply: "You should get a boyfiend with hair and big shoulders."
She did! He was a fine lad, lots of hair and big shoulders, and she annoyed the heck out of him as well.
Having femurs 3" longer should make his stride length longer with faster times if he can keep his cadence the same. If it works, i say go for broke and do the same operation on his lower legs.
If you're short and are convinced you can't meet gals because some phrenologist dweeb on YouTube named "200IQ_WomanUnderstander" is spouting off about his chronic inability to get laid, therein lies your problem. It has little to do with your height and everything to do with your terrible, woman- and self-hating world view.
That said, if you feel inclined to surgically intervene upon your shrimpiness, many cultures actually find very long necks sexually desirable, and you're better off slowly pushing down on your clavicle and ribs via neck rings.
Maybe its because I mostly hang out around runners, but I don't think of 5'7 as particularly short. I understand it's below average, but none of my friends around that height range struggle with dating or work. Also in the era of zoom calls instead of in person meetings coworkers and classmates are generally unaware of your height.
