looking forward to every us athlete getting banned for the invasion, murder of tens of thousands and occupation of iraq, bombing of lybia and many others.

Sounds very unpatriotic I hope you not is an American.
I for one applaud this move. Clearly, by association, people are guilty of any perceived crimes or slights of anyone else they are remotely linked to. When will we start to also arrest and prosecute the families, friends, and neighbors of criminals.

when iraq and lybia start holding major international sports events, they are welcome to do so.
If Russian tennis players are allowed to compete, you will have a complete mess. Players will refuse to compete with the Russian players, which will then set up an easier tournament for the Russians. Fans will disrupt matches with Russian players. Medvedev is already a player fans love to hate. And then you may run into trouble with sponsors who do not want to be associated with an event that welcomes Russians. The only way for Wimbledon to carry on with a professional quality event is to just keep the Russians out.
You don't have track athletes refusing to compete against Russians, even when ALL Russians should have been banned after the doping scandal.

Russian players are on the tour playing tournaments nearly every week.
Dumb idea to ban them at Wimbledon. Sure ban/boycott the Davis Cup or Olympics where the players represent Russia in an official capacity. But not individual tennis professionals.

Authorized Neutral Athlete = what a joke.
They would if they could. But track athletes have very few opportunities to compete during their season and cannot afford to miss competitions. Tennis players who get into Wimbledon are mostly millionaires who can afford to sit out a tournament.
Punishing anything and everyone Russian is overly punitive. The Union specifically decided against that course against the South at the end of the Civil War. Thus, healing was faster. Whereas after WWI, Germany was savagely punished long after the war and, well, we know how that turned out. I thought it was accepted wisdom that not every member of a group is exactly the same.

Blames the Allies for WW2.
Blames America for making Russia invade Ukraine and kill everyone.
Andrey Rublev was the tennis player that wrote 'No War Please' on a TV camera after an event in February. It was a brave thing to do and he'll likely be sanctioned by the Russian Tennis Federation as well as being banned from ITF events.
Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev had just beaten Poland's Hubert Hurkacz 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (5) in their semifinal match in Dubai before writing "No War Please" on the TV camera.

Yes and yes, kinda. The allies could have taken the Union's approach to rebuilding, but instead chose a more punitive path that resulted in an outcome worse than anyone imagined. And did the Biden Administration deliberately provoke the Russians in order to start a war that would distract from all of Biden's personal and policy failings here at home?? You'd have to actually understand how the hard left operated in various countries over the last hundred years to arrive at a yes.
Yes, the Russian people are responsible for what their government does. If they stupidly sit by and do nothing while their Military kills and rapes their neighbors, they are responsible.
A cop here in the US kneeled on one dude, killing him, and the American people almost shut the country down.
The Russian people are enablers of these war crimes and Russians should be banned from world affairs until Ukraine is rebuilt.
When I see videos of russians going about their lives sipping lattes and hanging out at parks while their soldiers rape women in Ukraine, it makes me sick.
Tennis has always played up the Nationalist angle in their sport. Seems like they should do this. What about the French Open ... that's coming up soon. They banning Russians?
Russia is a 3rd world shxt hole living in its past glory. Russian people need to understand that just because they learned how to wear pants and wipe their asses doesn't mean they aren't a nation of degenerate alcoholics. IMO it's taken several decades too long to start the process of showing Russians just exactly where they belong in the world. Good.
