So when are the masses going to stop saying kids shouldn’t train young? I thought Ingebritsen would have stopped this nonsense but I see it daily on these boards.
And Jack Watson is the only class of 2025 guy who started in elementary school. 1600 time from 8th grade in 2014: 8:00.21
After seeing some solid 8th grade times of people that will be freshman at NP next year, he also seems to be the only guy in the class of 2025 that will contribute to the team.
Noah Ingersoll is another candidate from that class but he has no track results.
It’s interesting how when Brosnan has classes like the ‘23 or this incoming year’s crop of 8th graders he looks like a genius. With the ‘24 and ‘25 class, he looks like a pretty ordinary coach. Do the ‘24 or ‘25 class kids just not believe or do they just set limits? I thought that was all it took to get kids to run sub 8:50.
This is going to sound like an outrageous idea, but maybe the success has more to do with a freakish gathering of insanely talented kids than the coach and his 4:20 is not fast philosophy. I know, I know, it’s preposterous.
imagine being a high school coach and you're getting 9 freshmen runners with 7-8 years of running experience? You just hit the mother load!

Could be that with the exception of Jack W, class of 2025 guys aren’t really “buying in” to the sport. They probably just aren’t as interested in getting as good as Leo and Lex. It’s all about how good you want to get

But isn't that what makes Brosnan great? Doesn't he get the kids to believe and to remove boundaries? Does that mean he only can get fast kids to believe they're fast and that average kids won't believe they're fast? Maybe the slower kids have lower boundaries than the uber talented kids like the Youngs and Sahlmans?
Is it about how good you want to get or how good you are? This is starting to sounds like a good coach can make really talented kids really fast, but can't make slow kids really fast. Reading the letsrun message board, I was under the impression someone like Brosnan could make anyone great.

Almost no other HS kids are running what Newbury Park is running. Taking a 5:06 kid to do what Nico did is damn good environment and coaching and so on. kids run fast in JR HS every year, but no one is doing what Newbury continues to do.
All the coaches who keep getting 10th at the state championship just keep sitting at home and complaining. It’s just what losers do. They find a reason why THEY can not succeed.
Newbury Park takes all levels on the boys and girls and makes them top in the country. All the good coaches realize this.
All the national caliber records they keep setting is something we have never seen as coaches and in the running community and it’s noticed by the top.

So, tell me the list of the kids at all levels Brosnan makes tops in the country. Find one who wasn't a very good youth runner.
He doesn't coach or pay any attention to the kids that aren't the tops on the team. Look at how many kids quit the team every year.
Since Class of 2025 were basically freshmen, it’s ok that they were not very fast. Only time will tell how they will do senior year
The class of 2023 were complete world beaters day one. Lex ran 14:38 for his very first high school XC meet. we don’t have to wait to see if the class of ‘25 will stack up.
Newbury Park is the best program in the county and didn't even going to the CIF State meet before Brosnan. The leadership and success speaks volumes of this program. Imagine looking into every program like these keyboard worriers are looking into Newbury Park. What is really shows us is how successful Newbury Park really is and becoming on the national level year by year.
Anytime you see greatness the normal people who are not great won't like it. it's just the facts of life and seen in everything from sports, business, etc.
The greats know how to get it done. Maybe instead of finding reason YOU can't succeed, take note or take the time to better yourself. It's the difference between being great or being "normal" or sub par.
Greatness is made and worked hard for by certain people. You will never see greatness or goals met you your life if you spend time worrying about others. These are facts many just won't accept.

When incoming 9th graders (that will potentially going to Newbury) started running: Micah Dickran (ran for a club where some kids go to NP) - 2017 - 6:08 1600 2022: 3200 PR - 10:37
Noah Sloan (brother is on the team) - 2021 - 5:06 1600. Ran 14:18 in the 2 mile in CC in 6th grade 2022: 3200 PR - 10:11
Max Rhoe (another Rhoe ran for NP)- 2019 - 2:43 800 2022: 1600 PR - 4:56
Gabriel Bernardino (going there per Instagram) - 2016 - 7:08 1600 2022: 3200 PR - 10:37
Eli Zasloff (another Zasloff went to NP) - 2017 - 6:41 1600 2022: 1600 PR - 4:59
Adrian Cantu (8th grade next year. Has a brother on the team) - 2015 - 6:19 1500 2022: 3200 PR - 10:34

The thing with Class of 2025 NP guys is that Watson is the only person who ran in elementary school. That’s why he is the only decent NP runner from that class. The other runners in that class have no data from MS or High School. So this could very well be their first year of running.
As for Class of 2024, Doshi is the only runner from that class who ran in Elementary school.
Nathan Porter had no data until 9th grade. But he seems to be progressing, and he ran a 9:52/4:26.
Jonah Sloan ran CC in 8th grade, but no results from before that. He ran a 10:17. So he made progress in a short amount of time.
There are some other guys from that class that didn’t start until high school and are already making some decent progress. Not sure how many will make their top 7 though.

ok Sean
Never formally met Coach Brosnan.I Just coach myself and follow results. My wife has a very successful business and deals with lowlifes who will never work as hard as she does and I see it in all industries.
