Winners (Track Events):
Marcell Jacobs - Made claim to be top dog by beating Coleman in his stronger event
Mariano Garcia - Had not heard of this guy before this season and while he didn't take down the Kenyans or Brazier here beating Hoppel and Kibet means he looks like a contender
Haji Adilo's Group - Tefera pulled the upset and it looks like he's back on track. Barega and Girma went 1-2 and looked like potential 5k medalists with Girma especially showing a great kick and acceleration.
Marc Scott- He's taken another step forward and is rewarded for a physical race
Ajee Wilson - She looked back to the medal-winning form in my view. Yes the top 2 might be far out there, but she looks like she might be able to build a gap to Goule, Rodgers and Reekie with her form at the moment.
Elinor Purrier St. Pierre - Bouncing back from her USAs and Tokyo disappointment and beating GDS handily puts her back in the mix behind Hassan, Kipyegon and Muir.
Losers (Track Events):
Christian Coleman- Yes he ran pretty well, but the 60 is his event so losing to Jacobs who will improve the longer the race is a tough one
Isaiah Harris - More referring to the injury, which is rough. Yes the 800 final was disappointing, too.
OAC - Hoare went from beating the Olympic bronze convincingly to be a pretty non-competitive 5th, Beamish was a non-factor in the 3k and his reasoning didn't inspire much confidence given all championships have rounds
Swoboda - Unlike pretty much everyone else she did not run near her best in the final
Natoya Goule - She didn't run bad persay, but it's just hard to see how she can medal going forward
Josette Norris - There was really no reason she shouldn't have medaled in this field or at least been right there, just looked flat
GDS - Disappointing to not get a medal here/where was the vaunted finish? Feels like she might be a tweener as far of her best event as well.
