Lolly loves to blather on about Syria, even though Russia killed far more Syrian civilians than the anti-ISIS coalition, and the Assad regime he loves killed hundreds of times more.
Now Syria has been devastated by a massive earthquake. It's been 36 hours, and Lolly hasn't said a word about it. He didn't even realize it happened. If he can't blame it on the U.S., he doesn't care. He doesn't care about people dying in Syria unless he can use their deaths in his arguments.
“After all, after Ukraine, Poland is on the map,” Ramzan Kadyrov said before announcing what seemed to be a made-up deadline for a Russian war victory.
I just can't figure out his obsession with ending US foreign aid. The US has been providing foreign aid for over 200 hundred years and almost all of it has had bipartisan and public support.
I even informed Lolly, because I thought it would mollify him, that the US ranks relatively low on providing foreign aid as a percentage of GDP when compared with other developed democracies. The US is below Sweden, Norway, Australia, UK, France, Netherlands, Canada, France, Japan, Switzerland and several others in terms of foreign aid/%-GDP. But he still posts endlessly about the evils of providing US foreign aid to countries around the globe.
And it's even weirder that he picked foreign aid to Ukraine as his jump-off point. Ukraine is a country being invaded by a much larger enemy, bombed and terrorized daily, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian citizens killed, millions running from their homes. Seems a strange thing to use as an example of the drawbacks of foreign aid. Seems like Lolly would have been better off on his "End US Foreign Aid!" crusade by questioning how spending, for example, $1.2 billion per year on Ethiopia or $830 million per year on Kenya benefits average Americans.
dude are you aware of the cheap stuff that poor and middling Americans can buy? Are you aware of the enormous benefits all Americans get from globalism and the Pax Americana?
I guess you aren't. Ok. You should look into it.
Globalism was created by the USA. At the end of World War 2 the US economy was bigger than the rest of the world combined. Korea was one of the poorest countries on the planet. Japan and Europe were in ruins.
The USA rebuilt the world in exchange for allegiance against the Soviets.
China only exists as a power because the US created globalism.
Globalism was invented by Marco Polo 800 years ago. Maybe earlier.
It's not some nefarious plot, it an inevitable product of commerce.

I think somebody's record is stuck.

This. The kooks and cranks have transmogrified a term for natural human progression and commercialization into a term for some demented and determined (yet still amorphous) conspiracy that is, of course, out to get them and destroy the world. And they run with this goofball stuff (and similar nonsense like "elites," the reborn and fashionable-once-again term "Military Industrial Complex," "Deep State," "Trilateral Commission" (what happened to those evildoers?), "golden billions" and "new world order," etc.) while misunderstanding real threats to their way of life (German fascism in the 30s, communism in the 60-70s, Russian nationalism/imperialism NOW). I think they're all just paranoid nutters. That or college freshmen.
Why the pages and pages about health care? It has nothing to do with US support for Ukraine. We don't have single payer universal healthcare, because the American electorate does not want it. It's been like that looooong before Russia invaded Ukraine. If we stopped giving aid to Ukraine, well, we still won't have universal healthcare.
Cecci/Lolly is just engaging in his own personal propaganda campaign, and using totally irrelevant arguments to do it.

It's almost like they have a systematic approach to change the subject away from Russia and their war of choice.
Someone should come up with a name for such a debate tactic. It could be called something like "what about this unrelated thing". I'll have to brainstorm some more...

He's a ghoul and a hypocrite.
You use an earthquake to justify US invasion of Syria

There is a name for that. It's called politicians. You can ask them the same question all day long. They'll change the subject to talk about something unrelated instead.

You see no connection between US spending $100,000,000,000 plus and counting on Urkaine and American people not getting things they need?

Propaganda 101: Find a wedge and keep hammering on it.
While it doesn't belong in this thread, US healthcare is kind of an interesting pick because most would agree that it's broken and ought to be fixed. There's broad disagreement on how to do that. I don't know if the old Obama era threads leading up to the ACA still exist, but my memory was a lot of substantial commentary at the time and a lot less trollish and repetitive BS.

Here is an article about how Canadas Universal Health Care really works. It starts after the tenth paragraph. I'll take the US system any day.
The seven-year conflict has marked a tipping point in the balance of power between the US and Russia, and has triggered a strategic disaster whose ramifications are still playing out
