This is my one and only point, I'm conveying in every single post of mine. Russia has been doing shady things, but so has the US. They're equally wrong when it comes to crimes against humanity. But blaming the other side, without acknowleding your own faults and taking action against them is just hypocricy.
Also, it's time to change your handle, buddy. You are unable to tell the truth from a lie, even if it would smack you dead in the face, since you have been sucessfully brainwashed. Also, just stop lying about having family in Ukraine, this is just pitiful.
You are more than welcome to elect politicians that agree with you and they can sanction every country in the world.
But, otherwise your whatsboutism is a tired failed argument that anyone with a high school education should be above.
Do your own work by yourself. YOU elect politicians that do not commit war crimes in the first place and prosecute the ones that do.
You're trying to make it sound as if whataboutism is worse than hypocricy. Whataboutism is simply a tool to expose hypocrites.
No. In this case whataboutism is your tool to defend Russian aggression. American hypocrisy doesn’t justify Russian aggression, as much as you would like to think it does.
you're not wrong - there is a double standard. The US and its allies certainly get away with stuff that no other nation or bloc could get away with.
That said....it's not apples to apples. The US did not try to annex iraq or afghanistan or take its oil. Whereas RU is just empire building, clear and simple. RU would make UKR part of RU.
The US hasn't done that by war for a long, long time.
There is a difference.
Thank you for at least acknowledging the double standard. US and Russian methods to achieve the same thing indeed are different: • US supports opposition to initiate a regime change to install a US puppet as a leader. • Russia goes in and takes over leadership by itself.
The results are the same though - dead people on the streets. We can't be arguing that "how" this is done makes all the difference. This is somewhat comparable to "committing murder" or "hiring someone else to commit murder and assisting". Both punishable by life in prison or the death penalty by law.

I do not defend Russian aggression. Only ask to measure it the same way American aggression is measured. Want Putin prosecuted? Prosecute Bush Jr. first to show example.
Calling for assassination of Putin? Well then, take care of good ol' Bush Jr. too.
Don't want to do anything about your own war criminals? Then don't complain about those in other countries, very simple.

Every time you bring up hypocrisy you are defending Russian aggression. If you don't agree with Russia invading and annexing parts of another country, come out and say so.
What, can't find anymore TASS or Sputnik articles saying how everything is going to plan? Was the western media propaganda right all along? So the facts are really the facts and we're not living in some Matrix type made up reality created by a unknown yet all powerful cabal of elites and the CIA? Shocking!

That's because Ukraine used an army of bioengineered super soldiers funded by the CIA to infiltrate TASS and Sputnik.

Everytime you bring up Russian aggression, you're ignoring American aggression.
Obviously, you have no problem with American aggression and American war crimes, which makes you a hypocrite.

The neo-cons (W Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz, etc.) should be prosecuted for war crimes and violating international law. The US should pay reparations to Iraq and Afghanistan. But the fact that this is politically impossible in the US doesn't mean that the US is precluded from providing military aid to Ukraine.

People don't need to include a list of past aggressions committed by other countries in every post here condemning Russia for invading Ukraine.

How much of the Ukraine does Russia control? Is Ukraine in the NATO or the EU yet? Do people there already live by European standards?
You celebrate winning small battles so much that lose the big picture out of your sight.

your moral relativism might be a problem. Work on it.
of course it matters who and why people die
you are the embodiment of that old story:
man one grabs a woman just before she is run over by a bus and throws her out of harm's way
a second man pushes a woman onto the tracks, killing her.
Can anyone here help me out: I'm looking for a quote by one of the most authoritative US strategists about how the geopolitical goal of the US was to separate Europe (or Germany) from Russia? This was before Russia - NATO conflict in Ukraine in 2022.
I don't think it was Friedman / Stratfor, though it can't be excluded.

Yes, they should be prosecuted. What's the problem, why is it not done yet? Not enough people in the US are repulsed by what's done?

And you celebrate Russian aggression because you're the biggest hypocrite in this thread.
How much of territory has Russia gained in the last 4 months? Negative 10,000 square kilometers? Russia is advancing backwards.
I'm sure calling up 300,000 people, handing them a rusty kalachnikov, and bussing them to front line will help. It's definitely a sign that everything is going according to plan for Putin.
Economic analysis posted earlier in this thread showed that there was a direct correlation between economic prosperity and European vs. Russian alignment among former Soviet republics. Of course Ukrainians want nothing to do with Russia. It's a f*cking sh*thole. They're smart enough to realize allying with the West is the path to prosperity, and they chased Yanukovych back to Russia when he tried to tell them otherwise. Sorry your dear mommy and daddy didn't get the message that Russia is a former superpower and a current sh*thole.
People don't need to include a list of past aggressions committed by other countries in every post here condemning Russia for invading Ukraine.
This is not about including a list, but about having moral authority to condemn. Prostitutes usually are not the ones to preach about virginity. The problem here, you are massively unaware or have been desensitized about what your country has done, yet scream about Putin and his doings. This makes for a very distorted image of the world.
The US is allowed to do anything it pleases, yet when some other country does something comparable, it is not allowed. Why?
