They have posted several times about being unsponsored and selling t-shirts to help fund their training.
Did they get dropped by Adidas or are they going after another sponsor? Any insight? What companies might pick them up, if any? What would they need to do to get sponsored again?
Wait, someone please help me out.
Are we talking about Nikki, or her training group? I literally cannot tell.
If this is asking about her specifically, because she's slower than she was last year. Ran 6 seconds slower in the mile at the armory.
This histrionic reaction to saying "they" was probably the same reaction from conservatives during the stonewall riots and the gay rights movement. "normal"...is not a thing and never was, and "they" is really not a big deal.
Now you might think i'm some liberal SJW but I'm actually not, I just think that the people crying over "they" are being oversensitive and ridiculous about something that really doesn't even affect them.
Triggered culture warriors throwing a tantrum over a simple word choice, they're so effing soft.
We're just asking that you respect our preferences, and demanding we say "they" will henceforth be considered assault.
Hiltz hasn't had a real coach in several years so I would expect to see a great deal of improvement / return to previous form this season. Talent doesn't go away and 27 isn't that old.
I actually think Nike would be a good fit. I think their reputation still needs some repairing and the brand is starting to feel a little too corporate. Sponsoring Hiltz would help with both issues. Plus the media likes Hiltz.
Maybe if they change the name to Nike Hiltz
But truly, why spend money on her now that they have the NCAA rules in their favor? There are plenty out there better, and getting better
Before races, officials have said things like, “Ladies, get on the line”; announcers have also misgendered Hiltz when reading the names of the athletes in the field. While Hiltz tends to handle these instances with grace and flexibility, that’s not to say there isn’t some kind of psychological effect. Their focus can lapse, or feelings of doubt can more easily invade their mind right before the race begins.
“It’s definitely something that can hinder my performance, but I try to think of it as part of the beauty of being me,” Hiltz says. Remembering their broader significance is something from which they can derive strength. “It’d be so cool to watch a sporting event where there’s a nonbinary person getting gender affirmed, and I try to remember how empowering that would’ve been for me and really channel that to my advantage.”
If someone officiating a WOMENS race calls you a woman (even without intent to “misgender”) and your performance is legitimately hindered you are in genuine need of psychological help, full stop.
Dedicating this much energy into projecting yourself as a martyr has to be exhausting. Crying foul that everyone degrades you, yet jumping at any opportunity to interpret every minuscule action from others as degrading cannot be healthy. We are reaching Naomi Osaka levels of victimization & hypersensitivity. Maybe it’s taking a toll on the training.
Would Atalanta consider taking on Hiltz? Or would Hiltz consider Atalanta as an option? It would be mutually beneficial for both parties since 1) Atalanta needs more runners, 2) Atalanta would get a lot of positive press out of them and 3) their only contender to make USAs right now seems to be Nelson, who is a lot faster than the others. And Hiltz would get paid.
Atalanta still exists? What - one runner on the team?

27 , 28, 29 = its over for most middle distance . Also, something happens when you realize , you will never get faster , that optimism in your training begins to fade and you lose your edge .it happens to everyone .
I’ll just note, for the record, that you suck. First, saying “they” instead of “she” isn’t hard. And Nikki’s only controversial to the extent that folks like you exist. Eff off.
Nikki’s a recent world champs qualifier, class act, and any brand would be lucky to be represented by them.

In theory Hiltz and Adidas are still negotiating, but I don't think that's actually true. I think that's just so it looks like Adidas didn't drop Hiltz and maybe gives Hiltz a little leverage when negotiating with other sponsors.
In any case, what sponsor really needs Hiltz? Adidas, New Balance, Nike, Brooks, etc already have plenty of runners. Maybe Under Armour or ON? If I was a sponsor desperate for a runner to sponsor, I'd rather sponsor someone like Allie Ostrander, The Athlete Special, or Colleen Quigley before I'd sponsor Hiltz.
Hiltz doesn't look like a favorite to finish top 3 at USAs any time soon, she doesn't have a really big social media following, and she isn't the friendliest person either. Not to mention the drama that would come along with sponsoring Hiltz. If you are going to be a controversial runner, you better have a huge social media following and be seen as a threat to win a global medal, like Sha'Carri Richardson.
Conclusion - Hiltz is going to have to sell a lot of t-shirts.

It's Hiltz's fault that Hiltz hasn't had a real coach for a while. Hiltz choose to leave an established track club with a real coach in order to train with friends instead. It didn't work out. I'm shocked!

Who is the other person? I thought you were just talking about hiltz
