For those of us who live in SoCal, we have all heard of San Juan Capistrano. It is about 30 miles from LAX, not 100. Why you hating and lying so much? It is a much nicer place then ANYWHERE in LA, which is a giant dump.

26:44 for Grant to target. That is right under the American record and good to see. Women within a few seconds of their mark with 30:16. If conditions are good I think both records going down is possible.
Wrong. They could use Drake Stadium of even SMCC. The former has stands on one side, but the track is set below ground level for wind blockage, and the latter is shielded from winds completely.
Perfect temperature on Sunday night for this race, low 50s. Winds won't be crazy. Almost optimal conditions. 26 high
They sold it as a L.A. race to get sponsors
A big lie
It's a dis service to L.A. to misrepresent
It's not in L.A. at all. It's closer to Santa Ana Airport
Trinity Rodman went to Jserra which is Only for kids with parents with $100 Million in liquid assets
Mt Sac is a pretty big stadium nearby isn’t it?
4 x back to back 10K’s in an empty high school stadium @ 11:00 PM EST = ….zzzzzzzzzzzzz 😴
sounds like a great opportunity for athletes but for fans this doesn’t do it
This meet wasn't really meant for fans. It's mainly just to have good pacing with wavelight to help lots of runners hit qualifying times.
26:44! There is no way this field of runners can produce 26:44. Nobody on the startlist has broken 27:00. You would need several runner's in the field to have substantial pb's to get even close to 26:44.
It the 10k AR is broken, it shouldn't count. I can accept the wavelights, but Rupp didn't get to pick and choose his weather conditions. He showed up to a real race as scheduled and ran.
Grant Fisher just ran a 12:53 5k indoors. He has a legitimate shot at 26:44 if the weather cooperates.
Is this a joke? Salazar was always so paranoid about weather with Rupp. I remember his 2011 AR record attempt (When Solinsky ended up breaking it) was supposed to be in Oregon but Salazar switched it to Stanford a day before bc of wind. He almost didnt run Stanford either because of pollen levels.
That's all good, but Rupp's 10K AR was done in the pre-classic
And J Serra is a VERY nice high school. There's a lot of $$ in South Orange County.
Wrong.....it's $21,500/year for tuition. Family incomes may be over $250k if they're sending kids there, but it's not all multimillionaires. It's not like it's Oaks Christian.
I'm guessing it's a lot easier to stage these meets in private high school tracks than at public institutions, whether high schools or colleges.

The USATF 10k Championships are taking place in Eugene, not Mt. SAC.
"The 2022 USATF 10,000m Championships will be contested May 27 the night
before the Nike Prefontaine Classic under the lights at Hayward Field on
the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene."
