I have had a chronic inflammation in my knee for over a year now. It started one day after a track workout when my knee started to swell. Long story short I’ve had 3 cortisone shots, 3 Hyaluronic acid shots, 2 PRP injections, and knee arthroscopic surgery 7 months ago. The last three MRIs just show a large joint effusion. Everything is intact and the cartilage is healthy. I have seen two rheumatologists one that diagnosed me with RA and the other diagnosing me with inflammatory arthritis. The tissue from the surgery came back healthy but the fluid in the knee is inflamed, no signs of infection. All the tests came back negative for RA, lupus, gout and a bunch of different markers.
My symptoms still Include swelling in the knee and restricted ROM. I do not have any pain when I workout, just discomfort from the swelling. I have seen 10 different PT’s, and 4 orthopedic doctors. No one can pin point what’s going on. When the swelling goes down a little the joint starts popping and feels crunchy.
Does anyone have advice?
