Maybe he is regaining fitness after an injury layoff? Dropped a lot of time in the 3000 over a couple of weeks.
down to a 9:10--is that really saying much? that is still in all honesty a beyond-atrocious time for someone of his caliber... I mean if he is having fun and happy then good for him, I just can't really wrap my mind around how someone as good as he was who is training and competing for a team (that I think is a solid dii program) is running now at a jv high school level
Talent can disappear regardless if some of you don't want to believe it. Michael Slagowski? Matthew Maton? Josh Evans?
Ran with some guys that new Finn when he was in high school/year at UW. Apparently he's quite the headcase and toxic teammate in every sense of the word. Never met him but it adds up with him bouncing around and now at Minnesota St. Mankato doing absolutely nothing.
Talent is great, but bad grades, terrible attitude and a stroked ego can quickly undo all of that
Any updates? Don't see him running for Mankato this fall
No longer on the roster
I noticed that, said he was a junior last year. Sad career, hopefully he's training for a marathon.
Basically he became a frat boy
At Mankato?
Seth Hirsch > Finn Gessner
Why is this odd?
Go back to your 25 minute 5ks and stop spreading rumors.
Why you gotta be so mean for?
He’s probably getting stoned with his buddies
20 minutes actually. Also, I’ve actually met the guy so be careful who you’re talking to
Very sad. I hope he is happy.
Me too. But I think he's been going through some mental health issues

My understanding of the Matons is that they simply moved in to different things in their life. Super talented family, all of them, but passionate about bigger things than running. Daniel broke 4 in a time trial at one point and I think he may have stopped running after. Didn't seem too stoked, i'm sure it was easy enough for him.

Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
