Running shorts discussion....too short, too long

Agreed...however, Im bored at work. I had a random question and you go all overkill on it. You want to stop busting my balls about my ridiculous post. My short lengths will not be dependent on the comments given on this message board. For future reference, if you don't care don't write a response.

yes your sexuality is determined by the lenght of your shorts therefore every runner is gonna burn in hell for being gay.

On a serious note I run in the short ones every day. I usually run in a fairly large group so harrassment is a non issue.

I guess it also depends on speed whther you can get away with it frequently. If you\'re a huffing fatty you shouldn\'t even be wearing them on race day.

I'm mid-range....I can never wear short-shorts (ie, ones with the slits that taper up on the sides), but hate wearing baggy basketball shorts too. I found a good line by Nike that I wear all the time that are perfectly half-way. I even wear them over tights in winter (feel over-exposed if just tights). I guess it's just whatever you feel comfortable in.

I wear lycra sprinter shorts (7" inseam) at the track, and I have some Nike "stretch" running shorts (just above the knee but not baggy) that I bought at the Nike store in Seattle. They don't bother me doing 1-2 mile recovery runs for sprinting at about 4:45 pace; Don't know about 10 miles in humid conditions, but these work fine at the beach. My speedsuit is also just above the knee, in keeping with modern fashion.

I've noticed a number of older jogger types running in lycra shorts this year. I think that's because modern running shorts aren't particular comfortabe for running

On a typical run a wear gym shorts over running shorts.

I may strip down to the running shorts for a fast track workout. Never wear just running shorts on an easy run.

i'll bite,

for marathons, whatever is appropriate, short shorts and tank in warmer climes,

on normal runs I usually dont runner geek out too much except on long runs in the warm months of summer in va, or in some of the colder days of the winter I might wear tights.

Really, who says that baggy basketball shorts are stylish anyways, unless you're an insecure 13 year old.

Go ahead and wear you're racing shorts ... they look good, and as long as you're comfortable with that, you'll be fine.

oy ,recovery run at 4:45 pace ! You're going to jog straight into a heart attack

you can always tell the difference between a serious runner and a poser by the length of the shorts they wear. short shorts are the way to go. look at all the elites, you'll never see them training in basketball shorts
