His 600 record is significantly superior to the 800 record.

What made Will choose to go to UGA? Was it the proximity to home? I wouldn't say Georgia is known for developing great 800m runners, though of course sprints might be more of the focus for now.
People who grow up in Georgia are Bulldogs. And Georgia is a good school which has great instate deals.
The current sprint coach at Georgia coached Michael Norman, so it should be a good way for his 400 to develop

Good but not great!
Obviously this kid is an incredible athlete, but I am not super impressed with the race, the splits or the time. With his speed he should have gotten out a little faster; he is too good to have immediately went to the back of the pack. With that said, the 800 HSR is certainty more legit than the 500/600. I knew getting the 800 record was going to be difficult and the outdoor version is equally as solid. Btw, Michael Grandville is perhaps the most underrated H.S. track athlete.

Totally agree. World class 800m runners can run a 600m in the 1:15 range and Will has a lot more in the tank regarding the 800m. He is so young and already so fast (that 500m was awesome). He is great now and on the path to even greater times.

You might be correct, but I was referring to the old 600m record he broke and not the time he ran. What I am saying is that his 600m PR means he should have been in the middle of the pack in that 800m race and could have run sub-1:48.
I actually looked for the website LetsRunFaster.com. Someone ought to run with that idea.
You posted "Good but not great!"
I can't believe this is a running forum, an actual running forum? I ran 1:53 Plus in high school. I never once thought I was great, ever---but at least good.
If this guy is not Great, then I wasn't even good. Some of you so called coaches are absolutely nuts and clearly shouldn't be coaching. Your own athletes must be called average by you, or sub par at best.
What has happened to this site?
I agree with this post 100 percent. Some of you sound really ignorant or just jealous. He's a great runner, not good.
To be clear, this kid is an incredible runner and he ran an amazing time. The good but not great comment was referring to the potential this kid has and how that race did not live up to what I thought was possible with a different strategy. That's all!
Cool story insofar as your opinion however two HSRs at 500/600 indicate great and not good.

Crazy, I’ve got posts on here older than this kid!

Keep coaching your son as you and your team see fit. Advise him not to visit this site.
If he never runs faster than he has in 2022, he will have accomplished more than 99.99% of the never-was, never-will-be, pasty white simps that dominate this site.
