That's pretty good. And one of those guys has a shot in steeple too.
Wasn’t Hunter hurt like a few months ago as well? I believe he ran at less than 100% at the Mt SAC xc race. He may not be back fully yet. I could see him making a big step forward this year and running with the Bowerman boys in the spring to challenge for the 2nd and 3rd 5k spot. Hunter may even crack 13:00 for 5k.
No one is touching Chelimo this year though. He is going to finally run a fast time this year (sub 1250?)
November- Feb stars. Always been that way. Count on it.
The World champs qualifier is 7:50 right? How many can the US send and will anyone from tinman go ?
Not bad.
But Jakob, McSweyn, Katir and Tafouk would almost be on the same straight as the Tinman boys by the end of a 3k.
They've got a long way to go.

Same straight? What do you mean..
Those guys would obliterate the Tins.. No disrespect to any of them.
Hunters complete lack of range of motion tells me he needs to move to half marathon right now
Is there a USATF Indoor Champs that selects the team for those who have qualifiers?
Tinmom is righting the ship!
They're going to Eugene, baby!

Without exact times, approximate World athletics scoring table:
1162 hunter - 7:42 =13:13 5000m/3:35.9x 1500m
1150 gusman - 7:44 =13:16 5000m
1150 coleman - 7:44 =13:16 5000m/8:23SC
1150 parsons - 7:44 =13:16 5000m
1143 barazza - 7:45 = 13:18 5000m/8:25SC
1131berriatua - 7:47 = 13:21 5000m/8:28SC

Times are irrelevant these days due to the super spikes. I wasn't a believer at first but recently I have changed my mind. At BU I think these times are around ten seconds faster than what they should be. If one of these guys makes a team (Parsons and Gusman are automatically on the worlds team due to nationality), or is even competitive at a national championship, then it will move the needle.

10 seconds over 3k? Really? Yes...BU is a fast track. Yes...the new generation of shoes are faster. But 10 seconds over 3k? Doubt it.
Parson's is not automatically on the German team but fairly likely (there is one better and one or two around Parson's ability but not all may even want to run Worlds indoor) .
However Parson's outdoor PB of almost three years ago is 7:44 and his 2019 indoor 7:49, so I don't think magical shoes or track are needed for another 7:44
But they promote themselves on social media so I'm supposed to hate and make fun of them or something.

Clearly they've righted the ship. Good for them. That being said, I'm still skeptical they are talented enough to make USA teams or for the foreign guys noise on the World level. That being said, good rebound after everyone was injured and/or running pedestrian times.
10 seconds may be too much. But 5 seconds would be too little. Somewhere in-between. We all have to adjust our perspective. ~3:57 is the new 4:00. ~7:54 is the new 8:00. There are 7 NCAA runners currently under 7:50 (in January!). You may need to run 7:47 just to qualify for NCAAs this year. So a guy like Drew Hunter running 7:42 is maybe just not noteworthy. Pretend it was 7:48-9 from 3 years ago.
Personally, I don't like what the shoe revolution has done, but it's done, and we need to start adjusting our reactions--what used to be fast times aren't fast anymore.
Yes. He looks odd/stiff in his Instagram vids too. I don’t remember Hunter looking so rigid. Never had good form, but he does look like a plodder all of a sudden. 7:42 plodder LOL but for real.
