To me this falls under the Guinness Book of World Records style of record - half for a laugh and half serious. Like the world's longest tongue and whatnot. (Though I grant you that one is embarrassing.) It's not a serious record, like Kipchoge's marathon record.
https://www.lolwot.com/20-wacky-and-hilarious-guinness-world-records/I ran 4:59 in 2006 pushing my daughter, I was 45 so I guess that is the master's baby stroller mile world record!
Don’t believe this in 2012 in So Cal a guy almost beat me pushing his kid in a stroller kid was maybe 4-5 y/o
I ran 4:30, barely out sprinted them in the last 100m lol He probably ran like 4:32.
Don’t believe me check it out
So Cal road mile Championships 2012 division men 39 and under.
There’s a video too in YouTube.

Story checks out. Impressive effort but this guy would get DQ-ed a hundred times over.
Why?
Do you know the rules?
The kid was not an infant he/she was a big kid very impressive running for a recreational/serious runner.

Not on a track is deal breaker number one. There's rules about what you can do with your hands. Nobody said the dude's effort isn't impressive, it can not be submitted for World Record consideration. Sorry!
It would be almost impossible trying to maneuver a baby stroller in the track. A straight mile makes sense to me. I don’t know that guy but when I saw him in the starting line I thought he was going to be in the back of the pack I was very wrong he is a very good runner and almost beat us all pushing his kid lol.
A good friend of mine made the video an amazing master runner I believe he ran the previous year 4:29 at age 50 or a month prior his bday. He was an absolute Beast. He actually inspired me training. I met him few years prior that year when I started running.
Agreed. I watched flash20935 push a 4 year old in a stroller to a sub 15 5k back in the day.

Now put that FL chud on that road course and let's see how he does
Mine (and I assume most) allow you to adjust the front wheel a tiny amount to either direction. When I've run on a track, I set it to turn left just a tiny amount. Then on the turns, it is easier to follow the turn. But the trade off is that on the straights you have to keep a tiny bit of pressure steering right to track straight.
But I feel like it's a net positive. Just moving so I'm pushing from the right or left side of the handle is almost enough to maintain it going where i want, so I just adjust my grip every 100 meters and it works out almost perfect.
You'll also likely be running in lane 2 at those speeds, or you'll be wasting effort steering just right in lane one.

Soft record.
Years ago, Fam ran 4:23* with a stroller.

Why push a stroller without a kid in it? Nonsense.
Actually Calum Neffs half marathon record got demolished in 2019, now sitting at 68:30. Thats 5:14 mile pace

And here I am still unable to break 5 for the mile without pushing anything. At 45, it's pretty much over. I wonder how old/heavy his daughter was during the record run?
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
