Because cheating is one of those irregular verbs in the English language:
We exploit creative advancements in science.
You level the playing field.
They are dirty, filthy, cheating swine.

Why are these people in the Hall of Fame?? They cheated and got busted! For all we know they did it their whole career.
I'm Decker-Tabb-Decker-Slaney's age. I hated her from the start- she was a spoiled brat. I know people who met her and interacted with her and they all said she was a spoiled Beeatch.
Having said that, I think she was clean until the end. And, if I remember correctly, it was testosterone that she was banned for. I suppose that could have been natural- maybe with today's technology we'd know that.
Honestly- My testosterone is unusually high. I was told by two labs that if I was a world class athlete I'd be suspect but they know it's natural and not supplements.
That's my very humble input.

I tend to agree. She was clean until the end. She pissed super hot at the end of her career when it gets harder to maintain and improve. Tried to blame birth control, was reinstated temporarily, then smacked back down, tests were tightened further.
Yes,and we only know a little bit of it.Its likely all salazar's athletes used EPO, and its also likely shelby used a cocktail of drugs.Im guessing EPO,nandrolone, clenbuterol, and HGH.

Not exactly. It was the extremely high T : E ratio in excess of 11 : 1 that did her in, not the T amount. Normal would be 1 : 1. Today they let you get away with 3 : 1 (but likely mark your ABP as suspicious and watch you more closely).
Anything higher, and they check the CIR to prove it's synthetic. As with Gatlin's testo (and Houlihan's nandro).
"clean until the end"? Fat chance. Remember she was a Cold War hero, meant to compete with the Soviet Union's drug cheats. Remember that was the time when USATF would cover up your positives (if they could) so you could beat the Soviets. Even after she was caught, USATF tried to let her skate.

Good points. But the funniest and most damning thing I've heard on this situation is from that "Win At All Costs" book. When Sal picked up the Gouchers from the airport for the first time, one of the very first things out of his mouth was a rant about how the Mary's tests were all wrong and flawed and they shouldn't ever think about it and he's a clean coach. Oh, and the fact that he called up some Duke Law professors to represent Mary's case, and then years later was like "No, I wasn't her coach, more of an acquaintance, definitely not her coach." I could talk about this all day.
All who wore the Athletics West singlet are suspect. We've heard too much from former team members to turn a blind eye and presume otherwise. Save Joanie who never trained in Eugene. I'd generally exempt Craig Virgin, as well.
Just going from memory here, a study came out about a month before Mary tested positive that suggested that although normal T/ET levels are 1:1, there are factors that may affect that driving it as high as 6:1 in extremely rare cases. Those factors? Birth control, red wine, and sex in addition to an abnormally high testosterone level. Mary tested at 11:1!! Her defense was "coincidentally" that her level was normally high, she is on birth control, drank a high volume of red wine the night before the test and had sex. I can't remember the name of the sprinter who used the same defense, except he didn't take the pill and he bragged that he had "a lot of sex" just before the test. Could it have been Butch? In any case, the rules now allow a 3:1 which you have to believe many athletes are abusing, but 11:1???
Dennis Mitchell, actually:

Decker is a doping cheater and every record she has should be wiped and every penny she was paid should be confiscated.
The probably will let the cheating cheaters Belicheat and Bradycheat into a Hall of Fame as well. Both should be in prison for theft.
Craig Masback, head of USATF, took to the media to remind all that she was "America's Sweetheart" and this was after she was caught at the Trials in '96 with the too high T : E ratio.
She attempted to blame glass of wine the night before the finals and her use of birth control.
Who coached her? Salazar.
Add Judi St. Hilaire and Lynn Jennings who never trained in Eugene.

Yes, that's fair and true.
Time for me to post this link for the third time today because SOMEONE keeps deleting it. I wonder who it could be?
