My daughter is competing in a state
junior combined (5 event) athletics comp in around a week. One of the events is an 800m.
Yesterday at her club she ran a very slow 800m (+16 seconds off her usual time) and was very upset. My suspicion is as her training has been focussed on sprints, she has lost her endurance.
Question: is there anything that can be done to build Endurance this close to an event (1 week)?
I suspect the answer is no. But I Was just going to take her on a couple of low intensity 2 or 3 km minute jogs this week as something to maybe build her confidence?
