You got it… if you have any other questions, stupid or not don’t be afraid to ask. As they they, there’s no such thing as a stupid question.
Going to sleep, if you have any questions please ask. I’ll answer as soon as I wake, or maybe after my long run ha
What days were you doubling? Also before or after your main run of the day
Is there a pancake mix you can recommend? And if you can't recommend a mix, is there a recipe you prefer for making pancakes from scratch? I've tried a few store bought mixes, but none have really knocked my socks off.

Lose 10 pounds, without losing muscle and you’ll run 14 seconds faster ( per studies).
^THIS was my experience in my admittedly pathetic 5k odyssey, but I definitely lost muscle as well as fat. Of course I had much muscle to lose relative to normal “distance muscle”, but still: cut weight.
Why don't you tell people you ran a 4 flat 1600?
Then they will think, oh, that's pretty much the same as a mile, and then they will think you ran a 4 minute mile, even though you never lied to them.

Because that would be like saying Bruce Springsteen isn’t relevant or whatever it was lol
Do you feel any resentment towards Dragonfly? Between the spike and faster tracks, you would have definitely gone under 4.
Nico Young?
I doubled in the mornings about 2-3 days a week. It was done in the am usually on my easy days with weights/weight room( I call it weight room but wasn’t lifting too much) I also occasionally did a morning run when I had a hard work out in the afternoon to get the legs feeling fresh
Well, it’s just easier to say I ran 4:02 and be done with it. It is what it is, I’m not too bothered about other people thinking it’s so much cooler or even better to have run 4:00 or 3:59 and I would have to say….. Hats off to them…
Nope. I’m not bothered . Tech will get better, it is getting better.. I’m not the tree to bark up on this matter. I don’t mind the fact these kids are getting “faster.” They are working their asses off and are using the material that they have available. I’m sure all the old guys if they had a mondo track would have woken up to run on that instead of dirt… I still think it’s a generational problem because people see “kids” running faster times then when they ran and just call out the tech… but in 20 years, I think there will be kids of today saying the same thing…I don’t have the ego to say all this is not fair… what’s not fair I was born without these new toys which I would have loved to have run in!! Haha
I think it’s all about trial error with the pancake mixes… I personally like any mix that doesn’t have milk. I also use real maple syrup…. The key is to keep trying the mixes until you have found the holy grail… write the bad boy down and put it in a safe!!!
Keep em coming
What would you say were your "key" workouts, whether on the track or off?
Were there any *specific* workouts that indicated you were ready for something in the 4:02 range?
Could you provide a weekly schedule/outline in season and out of season?
How many mpw?
Easy pace? Long run pace?
Example workouts?
Progression?
PRs in other events?

I got to 4:02 in 3 years of running full time by the time I was 20. Played football, basketball and baseball before giving running a shot.
I obviously wanted to break 4 but walked away at the age of 21 … didn’t really matter to me the 4 mark barrier as I had other things I wanted to do.
If you love the sport and have goals and dedication, you can get to where you want as long as genetics and work ethic are there… I know a lot of people will disagree but you need to have both!
This makes me not believe you. You are probably a 5:02 miler.
Meaning for you to do or what I did?
Yeah. You caught me out. Ha. I don’t need to prove to you that’s the truth, believe it if you want or not.
