Hello LetsRun,
So ten years ago, I was running about 100 miles a week at an average of 6:30 pace. Since graduating college, moving to the opposite side of the country, and a pretty serious injury, I have decided to get back into running. To give some background, I do swim about 1500 yards three days a week for cardio but I have yet to run consistently in ten years.
New Year. New Me. Anyways, if you're still reading. Whats the best way to start getting back into shape. Tonight I ran 1.5 miles at a pretty good pace. Which got me thinking. Should I go out 1.5 miles a few times a week at a quicker pace or would I be better off running3-5 miles at a much slower pace until I feel like I'm not dying.
I do realize that I will probably need to run for a pretty long time to get back to that kind of shape I once was....if ever. I'm only thirty and I believe that with hard work, I might be able to one day.
