How much did he press in his 1 minute victory? How hard did his competitors look to go?
To me these are the biggest questions going into NCAA's.

Given that that was Kangogo's last race of the season, I can't see why he wouldn't have gone all out. That to me would imply that the chase pack of Boit, Kosgei and Kip wouldn't have been dogging it. If that's all true, Keating had the most impressive run to date in this XC season.

Kangogo, who finised 4th overall, should be running at NCAA's.

Two questions I have:
1. What other races has Keating run this year?
2. Is there still talk that he's doping?

I just took the doping talk as posts with nothing behind them.
ttc that just further proves that you are a fan and not someone in the know.

You're right: I AM a fan, but am not in the know. Therefore, I'm wondering where the drug speculation's stemming from and why it's only with Keating and not others. He ran great, but it's not like 29:30 isn't unheard of, even on a tough XC course.
because he has been suspected before.
Because his racing ability seems to come and go with the wind (or needle). Does anybody have those needle mark pictures of Keating from a couple of years ago.

uh huh...yeah that would be obvious kid.....however buy whom was he suspected??...maybe some nameless, faceless poster...on this worthless message board??

same with ritz. one day hes dominating kenyans, the next finishing 62nd at the world XC champs...so why dont you accuse him of doping.
Keating (UTPA) pushed the pace the whole way at NCAA Pre-National (Blue Race), fading to 3rd overall in 23:42 (14:54 @ 5K), losing only to Rohatinsky (BYU) and Kangogo (TCU), but defeating Lemoncello (FSU), Olinger (OSU), Rupp (OR), Chesang (KS), and Jefferson (IN), among others.

You can see him pushing the pace with the following pictures at

The kid is a legit title contender and isn't unknown.

Since your post IS "talk that he's doping", yes, there still is talk, apparently.
There is also talk that Eddy Hellebuyck (sp?) and Regina Jacobs were clean. That talk is equally as valid. Just talk.
it was a good race up front. keating, boit, kosgei, and kangogo all looked pretty good. around 5k, the UTPA coach yelled "now" at keating and he surged away from the arkansas guys. i'm not sure when boit and kosgei got away from kangogo. boit and kosgei looked very relaxed and controlled. they were pretty much running side by side. keating looked solid too, but you could tell he was laboring more than boit or kosgei, of course he was way up on them, so he was working harder. kangogo looked like he was pushing, at least he was grimacing for most of the race. but he could just have that facial expression when he runs, i'm not that familiar with him, other than knowing he won pre-nats a couple years ago.
it was a pretty good race to watch. i'm not surprised that boit and kosgei didn't cover keating's move. they looked like they were just chilling for next week, just another workout for them. i think at nats they're going to do really well.
oh yeah, barnicle has a weird running style. he looks like he's chopping his stride.
needle marks on the left leg...........
I definately heard that he was doping the story was he didnt necessarily get caught but people on his own team suspected and a guess one guy knew that keating was on something and reported him thats why we didnt see him run a few years back, i think hes dirty, always up and down, a cycle on drugs will do that to you!
proof man, show us proof, don't speculate! Until then keep running your little 5k pogdon meets
For one, proof is only according to keating and his school, they could have hid that evidence and im only giving the news you can do what you like wit it lik put up your a$$ if u like. Also, every good runner is up for speculation they must understand that comes with good performance people speculate, however keating is speculated bc he has been sepculated constantly and the no show for that one year he didnt compete was a little sketchy, and by the way im sure i would smash u in a 5k-13:48 biotch
well for one, i would smash u in a 5k-13:48 biotch. Plus every good runner is up for speculation, keating even more since teamates have said things to others while in highschool and in college. Also explain to me how it isnt sketchy that he didnt run that year he was speculated, maybe he pleaded safe harbor and coaches and staff suggested he not run that year???? hmmmmmmmm, sketchy
