Highschool runner, During Covid I upped my weekly mileage from 35 to 50-60 depending on the week. (all singles) I would walk 1-3 miles with my dog and girlfriend on a local trail in the evenings to make my pup happier. I never got injured besides some minor annoyances that would easily be resolved by taking a day off or stretching. During the past 6 months I have kept the same mileage with a few down weeks due to life, but have suffered multiple injuries involving hip/hipflexor/knee. One taking me out for 2 weeks. I stopped walking in the evenings because of a breakup and my pup passing. Is it possible that doubling with casual but semi long walks prevents injury or is an active recovery of some sort? Or am I reaching and simply just a coincidence?
