I'm either lucky or have had it and didn't know it. I've been doing whatever I feel like without restraint since probably June 2021. Granted I work from home and am fully vaccinated (2 doses + booster). I go to bars, restaurants, airlines, etc.

“I am teacher and coach in Iowa. I don't wear a mask. I am around hundreds of kids all day. I have ridden on team busses dozens of times. I have flown 4 times since the start of the pandemic. One flight was to Garmjn XC in Huntsville. I have never been …”
Wait and this is the same person that said they care about others??? No you don’t. If you cared about others, even your students who may have been too young to be vaccinated you would wear a mask.
You do not care about anyone but yourself and your own beliefs.
How so? Please post a study about masks and please post a study about teaching without a mask and the difference in learning. You will find that kids are nearly immune from Covid and that masks are not effective but wearing a mask while teaching severely impacts the learning of the students. Yes I have done my research and I weight the impacts of masks and have concluded that children are more negatively than positively impacted in a learning environment. And as a teacher, I have happily dedicated my life to helping others rather than chasing pay raises. I have coached many years as a volunteer so that younger coaches can take a paid coaching position at the school.

you're awesome! ignore the Covid doomers, they've lost their minds and their sense the past two years.

It doesn't justify your reckless behavior.
You can be fired for false information that kids are immune from Covid.
Just saying. Be careful.
Because I don't care how benevolent you feel you are. If you keep that narrative going, I will do my best to make sure the administration knows what you're perpetuating.
Now you've piqued my crazy.
Good luck.

And he ain't the only one as we can see by the outraged comments inspired by your post
Everything looks factual. Kids are nearly immune was the statement. The CDC website confirms that. Are saying that the CDC is falsifying it's data? There isn't one documented death to a child who did not have pre existing conditions. Rather than getting confrontational, why not provide data that refutes something. Probably because there is none.
I haven't had it, but my son has. He got it before the vaccinations were available. He had flu like symptoms for a few days. We lived in the same house, ate the same meals, etc. His sister didn't get it either.
An unvaxed co-worker got it, but not from work as we all work from home. She had bad flu symptoms but continued to work.
IMHO, the key to beating COVID is to stay active.

Falsifying?
No.
But I think the Russian in charge (keep in !ind she's Russian..i do not trust her) keeps changing the guidelines.
Were you asleep when it was publicized that many of the new cases were pediatric?
With as filthy as American High school kids are, there is no way they are immune.
Not everyone is reporting equally, you can't go by just numbers.
Coughing teachers without masks on. Transmitting it to kids and convincing them It's okay because teaching without a mask makes better teaching?
That is the most country -fried hogwash I've ever seen.
I have 2 kids in college. They haven't won a mask one time this school year and nearly none of their professors have either. You haven't provided any data regarding deaths of healthy children. Hundreds if healthy children die of the flu every year though. Why weren't you pushing for masking of teachers and students in the past? Lives could have been saved.

Simple answer. No virus has been this microscopic nor as contagious.
And honestly, when I lived in Southern California, a lot of the children didn't go to school sick.
It's also the first time the CDC recommended masks.
Why be a renegade?

Is your family Southing it and Churching it too and you're all good cuz ya got GAWD like other reckless states?
My husband and I are both university professors. We don't go to bars or sporting events and rarely to restaurants, but we do go to work every day (everyone vaccinated and masked), to the grocery store and other retail outlets regularly (only some people wear masks), and to a local gym almost every day (most members unmasked). We have both been tested 10-20 times over the past year and a half by our employer and have never registered a positive, nor have either of us been sick since the pandemic started. I don't think either of us has had it yet.

And if one of them happens to get it and they are hospitalized..what are you prepared to explain to him, PA?
What if it's you that gives it them, PA...what the f then
Just so you can put on these contrived airs of fake machismo taking a quixotic stand against an enemy that is not there?
I'm glad they are in college because you're helplessly plumb stupid.
I live in a crowded Covid infected area. Although I'm retired I shop 4 days a week do laundry 3x a week in our apt complex basement and go to the gym 3x a week. I've worn the same cloth masks for the last 20 months. My wife goes to work and shops a couple days a week. Were pretty conservative but go out to dinner once a week and have been to shows and weddings.
Lately, my adolescent kids have been more active than ever, they lift in a sports club 4 or 5 days a week and go to the mall with friends. I'm not going to put fear into them even if I have some of my own and we want them to enjoy their lives. It's bad enough their education has been compromised with teacher absences and constant testing. I do remind them to keep their mask on and be aware that covid is still around but I want them to be as active as they want.
Somehow my kids who are tested regularly have never tested positive. My wife was tested last month when she was a bit sick but was negative. I expect to get it so we're just trying to stay as fit and healthy as possible.

Literally most people have NOT had Covid. The U.S. is at 66 million cases for a 330 million population. So 20% of people have tested positive. Let's say another 30 million have had it but didn't get tested for it, that's still only a third of the U.S. who has had it. So bar far most people have NOT had Covid.
Anyway, I also have not had it. I don't work in a job where I have much contact with other people, but I have traveled around the country a fair amount the past year or more and go out to eat at restaurants a lot or breweries... I haven't gotten it. I haven't even had a cold since the pandemic started; knock on wood..

less than 5% of people in the world have contracted Covid to date. If you live in an area or comunity where most people have contracted it, you live in an extremely unsafe environment.
