J Ingebritsen running the 1500m in Lievin is much more exciting than Katir in Karlsruhe to me.

Well, Jakob has not improved much in the past couple of years. He simply improved from 3:28.6 in 2020 to 3:28.3 in 2021
Katir, on the other hand, improved from 3:36.5 in 2020 to 3:28.7 in 2021. In addition, he improved his 10k from 28:58 in 2020 to 27:45 in 2021 (a couple of weeks ago). We can therefore still expect big improvement from Katir. Jakob? Not so much.
Same with Hocker, who went from 3:58.2 mile in 2020 to 3:50.5 in 2021…. He is progressing fast. Will he go sub 7:40? Sub 7:38? Sub 7:35?
NP kids. Well, a Soph who ran 8:43 (3200m) then went on to break the XC 3 mile record and also broke the 5000m XC record. However, a teammate of his went even faster at 5000m XC. Quite reasonable to anticipate big track progression from them
Yes, Jakob should do fine. Actually, if he does not go sub 3:31, it will be a disappointment. Can’t expect a huge progression from him however (his best is 3:31.8)
