Sorry, I missed this reply and enjoy communicating with you.
You saw less federal tax being taken from your check? Paid less at tax time? I ask because I got soaked and know for a fact that taxes on the middle class were raised and continue to rise under the 2017 tax cut for the wealthy/corporations bill.
My GOP/Dem bias comes from ignorance spawned shouts on most any topic. The OP started this thread with no other intent than to imply the current president is solely responsible for inflation. No thought or facts, just read inflation was up 7% and ran with it. Almost any topic will draw such low mentality venom. If trump did nothing else, he made it okay to make lies without any facts acceptable and attack anyone/everyone who may disagree. He made it okay to openly be an a$$ to anyone who is not just like you.
I am socially liberal and get sick of no one challenging this thought process. I am mid-50s and have been independent most of my life and pride myself on disliking both parties and the process itself. That changed when people backed a horrible human being, normalizing such behavior. I presume I will shift back toward the middle once the element of treating others with disrespect loses it's steam.
I am not saying that some things are not quickly shifting left. What I am saying is I believe it is a very vocal minority on many topics, just like the trumpians I outlined above. These fringes now have an ear and are not afraid to bellow their rhetoric any chance they get. I do not think things are as supported (left or right fringe) as much as it seems. Media makes money in getting those fringe beliefs out there.
Just have to add: why do people question giving free healthcare to undocumented immigrants rather than questioning why we are the only country in the civilized world to not provide free healthcare for all?
