First of all, it's doubtful that anything you might write back is going to change this guys mind.
Second, whether or not other mitigations may or may not be effective is only tangentially relevant to whether one ought be be vaccinated.
These sorts of arguments are mostly post hoc rationalization not objectively rational evaluations of the data.
I agree with the guy who wrote you, but I also agree with Well, ok then. Nothing you say would change my mind because you're not in a position to have inside information on what's really happening.
The vaccines obviously help prevent covid over the short term, but what are the vaccines doing to your immune system over the long term? Stories of vaccine adverse events have been actively suppressed, but those are short-term effects. What about the possible long-term adverse effects?
My premise all along has been that we won't know long-term effects until we have observed a large population for a long term. Gradually, that will happen this year as 100 million adults will have been vaccinated for one year by April 2022. Any long-term adverse effects should be surfacing by then.
