That mile PR was in 2017, and she has not broke 4:40 since then. You all are stuck in a time warp!!!! Tuohy is not a miler anymore. She is 3K or above
Speaking of time warps, you are off by a year. She also went well under 4:40 om a dmr in 2019 as I recall. That being said I think it would be tough for her to win a ncaa championship1 mile or 1500.
DMR is 1600m, not a full mile

oh really????? I said "well under 4:40" Easily under a 4:40 if she ran the extra 9 meters. What exactly do you have against her?
Tuohy ran 412 1500m last year... she ran 412, 413, 414... 3 prs... 11th best in the world u20....
Next closest American was 419....
Heymach is a senior... Tuohy keeps getting faster... after this year she will be probably top 3 in ncaa mile/1500.

I don’t have anything against her. I just get tired of all the talk about an athlete who has not done anything special in college compared to her HS career, but you would think she has based on all the threads about her. My problem is with her brainwashed minions that hype her up in light of athletes who are really doing impressive things. For example, on her own team…….Kelsey Chmiel had to live and run in the shadows of Tuohy for years in HS and sadly still does! Kelsey has improved every year of her running career and is now consistently beating a person that everyone is talking about. No love for Kelsey! She is still in her shadow, yet social media shows more love to Tuohy still even when Chmiel is the better runner?!?
Sam Bush was a nobody in HS, yet she has worked her way up to Tuohy, to where she is less than a second behind her in her best track event (3000m). These athletes should be getting the love and attention as Tuohy, but they don’t!!!!
So, to answer your question honestly, I’m not against her, but against the media who worships an athlete that is not the best anymore, and who indirectly slaps the face of many runners who have these incredible success stories that know one talks about! I feel bad for all these women who get a sentence on incredible successes, while Tuohy gets praised for not winning. Go figure?!?!
It's not press, but 10 guys on LRC who talk about Tuohy. Media too busy with Allyson Felix. Ironically, Chmiel, Bush....and Tuohy seem more than content to just keep training together and spurring each other on to new pr's. They are the core of what will be next year's back to back XC champs.
I think you are right on Bush, you may recall after NCAA XC and before BU I posted on her and Tuohy on a DMR. She is running a 3,000 at same pace she could run a mile a year ago. She also had the fastest final lap of anyone in that BU 3,000. I also think some of the Tuohy predictions are a little optimistic, though I think she will do well in college, probably more so in 3,000 or 5,000. But being a 1500 or mile champion seems less likely to me for various reasons - one being the indoor DMR, another being short indoor straightaways and a third being her current closing speed. But, I hope I am not optimistic enough.
But you lose some credibility when you post bad information on what and when she(Tuohy) ran what times. On Chmiel she seems to keep a very low profile. Tuohy seems to be trying to do that, but she is well established.
Entries are in for Hokie Invitational, most NC St runners dropping down in distance but there seems to be one missing. UNC, Duke, VA among other schools there.
https://www.flashresults.com/2022_Meets/Indoor/01-21_HokieInvite/athleteListWomen.htm
i searched for the entries and hannah steelman and katelyn tuohy arent running at hookie invite
hannah steelman has minor achilles injury, idk about katelyn (i thought she fully recovered already?)
Dude this makes no sense.... tuohy just set the u20 record by a big margin... and she's still the best for her age by a big margin for her first 2 years of college, so yeah that is Special!
All the other girls are almost all over 21... tuohy is 19....
Chmiel is doing great but this was the first notable track time of her career, same with Sam bush, if u want to hype them, go for it, start a thread and see how many respond...
Anyway chmiel and bush had never run a track time before bu , that would get anyone excited or bring them attention that's why. Katelyn Tuohy has been setting records for years that's why people follow her
And again to say she has no chance to win a 1500m or mile when she is way out ahead in those distances for her age is silly. Right now best 2 events r the 1500m and the 3K.

I'm sorry to break it to you but, fans stayed because tuohy is still the best, didn't she just break an american junior record ? so thats not being the best? she owns the top times for freshmen last year and now also owns top times for sophomores
if we are going to talk about "best" as winning races then kelsey and bush aren't "best" either ... are they winning races? no .. kelsey did on regionals but on a national level, no. also, they are already 21 and have not dealt with injuries and surgery like tuohy... bush and kelsey improved alot, but so did tuohy coming from a knee surgery
you are free to praise other runners that you like and make threads about them, what stopping you? why do you blame tuohy fans and supporters for the lack of attention other runner gets? thats just plain jealousy on an 19 year old
aren't you tired of crying out on a thread begging for attention to your fave runners ?
Hate to break the bad news to all you Tuohy worshippers, but she is hurt. So you may be forced to talk about someone else for a little time. She may not do much until outdoors.
How? Keeps gettin injured in the offseason. Don't they have a wheelchair division... get rollin
Isabelle Goldstein took a gap year & is now a freshman at Harvard. I haven’t heard of a couple of the runners on that list in awhile.
Could one of you yahoos call the NC State athletic department and find out her injury status
Just tell them you're a poster on let's run I'm sure they'll be very forthcoming
Anyway another possibility is that she's going after the 5K u20 American record, and has a specific training schedule and a specific date she's going to go for it
Speaking of records... the college mile record is only 429.09, in season, and 427 any time, the 429 seems very possible to break....

Oh really, thanks the suspense on that one was killing me. Okay thanks that's one fire extinguished. Now how about calling NC State and putting out another fire. But listen don't mention let's run. it'll only scare them off. Just say you want to donate to the Katelyn Tuohy Rehabilitation fund. And see how they react
Could have tested positive for covid

What seems odd to me is there is a pic on Instagram this week with her and the team on the basketball court being recognized for XC - with Tuohy holding the (heavy) trophy. Seems inconsistent with the injury or covid speculation.
Maybe ducking competition.
