I used the Brooks ELMN8 v5 for high school and they were very competitive. They are pretty slim and put you on your toes. Turned my mid foot strike to a complete tippy toe when I was running in them. The tippy toe action was good for the 1600 and under but my calves got fatigued very quickly when I ran the 3200m, especially after running events prior. Haven't tried to Nike Air Zoom Victories, but right now I own a pair of dragonfly's and would recommend them over the Brooks. Not that the brooks are bad in any way, I actually was quite stubborn in getting rid of them but Dragonfly's are a breed of their own. If they are available in your size that's what I would recommend
+1 for the Dragonfly (I have the Dragonfly, AZV and Elmn8 v5)
- Air Zoom Vics: Weird feeling when you first wear them, unstable (like standing on a wobble board) because of the air pods. They do feel fast in a straight line, but not so much on the bends - especially on a tight indoor track as I found out last week. I know people who love these spikes, and also some who hate them. If you do buy some, they tend to fit "long" so go 0/5-1 size down compared to usually Nike sizing (Next %, Peg etc.)
- Elmn8 v5: Mine fit like a glove, light, stiff & fast...good for 400/800 but I wouldn't go over 1500/1600 in these because their is zero cushioning (as you know!) Love the look of the v6 too - think they're basically the same spike as the v5 but with a different upper? V6 not available in the UK yet.
- Dragonfly: these things are crazy value for money; they are a few grams heavier than the Air Zoom Vics, but I run 800 quicker in the Dragonfly. I think it's because of the extra foam around the heel + full length plastic plate which helps when my form goes out the window after about 500m. Very comfy and an "all rounder" spike - I use mine for a whole season of mid-dist training sessions and have raced 400 up to 3000 in these, but they are easily good for anything up to 5/10K. These would be my pick for the 1600m.

Get v5s, the v6 have the same sole and a heavier upper. Skip the air victory, if you want Nike I recommend the dragonfly
UPDATE:
- i have both v5 and v6 in my hands.
- v6 is very noticeably heavier
- v6 also has extra cushioning in the heel, which is prob why it's heavier (and i assume they did this to accommodate the people running the 1600m)
- also, the v6 upper also looks thicker (which is why it's heavier i guess)
- according to Brooks, the main difference is that the v6 has a 'full length pebax rnew plate' inlaid with carbon fiber
