It is frustrating to read some of these threads about getting recruited and getting scholarships. My oldest son is at an average P5. He ran 4:12/9:10 his senior year but had no scholarship offers. He ended up walking on at a school that gave some academic scholarships. He has improved to 4:08 and 24:45. My next son is a senior who is on track to run the same times having run 4:16/9:20 as a junior. We are having an even tougher time than with our older son. I think Covid has caused times to improve and kids to hang around. We have tried every P5 east of the Mississippi and most haven't responded. He has taken 3 official visits so he will probably take a walk-on spot at one of them but none are really perfect. Our in state school doesn't want him and the better academic schools haven't responded even though he is well qualified.
