I know this is a loaded question. So I did a workout today, two sets broken 600s with 30 seconds rest between the 400 and 200, and a ten minute rest between starting the second set. I believe I have the speed to break 2 in the 800 because my 400 PR is 50 (that was last year though), fully automatic timing. Just no endurance in me. My coaches are trying to move me up. As of right now I think I'm in 52 shape if I were in a race.
(First Set)
400 - 55
200 - 28
(Second Set)
400 - 56
200 - 32 (I died lol)
I have a mile PR of 4:51. This is probably hard to answer but, do I have a shot at breaking 2 this indoor season? The last time I ran one was in June and that was a 2:01 (alone) but I was training for 4 months to get there from a 2:09. Currently I've only been training a month now and the first meet is in two weeks. I don't know what kind of 800 shape I'm in and my coach doesn't want to do a time trial so I'm kind of nervous. I want to know where I'm at before I can dip my feet in the water.
