Hearing talk of BU mandating mask for all competitors while competing or going as far as possibly canceling their remaining indoor meets. Any truth to this?

Definitely a possibility.
So what about those of us who already signed up and paid for the BU Terrier Classic, bought the plane tickets, booked hotels, and paid for car rentals? Are we going to get our money back or somehow be reimbursed for this?

Democrats usually cancel events and place restrictions, not Republicans.

Yes, as a show of goodwill they will be giving all entrants a $2 voucher good for any participating Dunkin Donuts within 400 feet of the Citgo sign.
Their fully vaccinated and boostered Senator has COVID. Of course they will shutdown. And they will force everyone to get a booster that doesn't work.

I don’t think this can emphasized enough.
Just like my friend who was injured in a car wreck, despite wearing a seat belt. I don’t think people are aware that they can still get hurt even when wearing them. What a waste.
They will cancel. The rest of the meets are post-Jan 6th, so that means Civil War 2.0 will be in full swing.

Perhaps if he had been wearing three seatbelts the car door still wouldn't have crushed him from the side. Sometimes you will still get injured regardless of how many precautions an individual takes.

That is true. So maybe seatbelts and airbags are worth having even if they’re not 100%.

Let me get this straight...during an ongoing pandemic with two variants, you purchased non-refundable plane tickets, booked a hotel and car rentals for a an indoor track meet?

Indoor track meets were still held during the pandemic even before the vaccines were widely available.
What was he supposed to do, wait until the day before the meet, hope that there are available flights, cars, and hotels, and pay a premium for getting those services at the last minute?

you were supposed to not be an idiot who put all of their eggs in a basket during a pandemic in which millions have died

Right, don't put all of your eggs in one basket. Sign up for two meets, buy two round-trip flights, and pay for two different hotel and car reservations.
In the best-case scenario where neither meet gets cancelled, you're paying double. And if both meets do get cancelled, all of that cash goes down the drain . Great idea!

Sign up for a meet in Texas instead.

None of the Texas tracks are as fast as the BU track, though.

Masks for athletes indoors again? Please make it stop. Total clown world. The unvaxxed are not diseased. They are not carriers of disease. Healthy athletes do not carry disease. They do not carry disease.
If you are sick, don’t compete. If you aren’t, you should be free to compete with zero mandates or restrictions.
The zero covid people and mask mandates and vax mandates have caused all of this. Time to speak up everyone.

Yes. When I bought all that, indoor meets were going on as usual, and there was no indication that any of them would be cancelled.
You usually don’t have to put money down for a car rental - you should have reserved a room with a free cancelation policy and you should have paid the middle rate for flights so you could cancel them or bought the cheap insurance. You are just not a good traveler that’s on you.
