5k Xc course, moderate to minimal elevation changes.
Who wins? Do the high school versions of ritz, rupp, webb, hall, solinsky have what it takes to take down the great newbury park.
Thoughts?

Ritz puts them in the hurt locker and just wins by a little
Dual or in a national meet?
Dual meet.
Very close but old guys crush their 5th in larger race.
NP 2-6-7-8-10. - 33
Old 1-3-4-5-9. - 22

national meet the weak 5th man means NP never wins.
In a dual meet, NP has some chance of going 1+2+3 for the win. I think the odds of 2 of them breaking up NP enough for the win is too high

What if we change out NP's 5th man with a T-Rex. Then who wins?

Ritz and Solinsky were clearly better XC runners than anybody running this year IMO. I think Rupp probably as well, although he was slightly better in track than XC in HS (he ran 13:37 back before the Dragonfly — I am not sure any of the NP guys will touch that even with the better tech).
All 4 NP kids are better than Hall was in HS, and I think there is a pretty good argument they are better than Webb in XC as well, although I think on a course like RunningLane Webb would’ve been a real force. We’ll just assume it’s on the Garmin RunningLane course and all the dudes are in their senior year and have the shoe tech the NP kids do so we can use the NP times. Here’s my predict:
1. Ritzenhein 13:53
2. Solinsky 13:59
3. Rupp 14:02
4. C. Sahlman 14:03
5. Leo Young 14:05
6. Lex Young 14:06
7. A. Webb 14:07
8. A. Sahlman 14:14
9. R. Hall 14:15
10. D. Appleford 14:XX
Old Timers 22
Newbury Park 33
Solinsky 1359? Lol
Rupp couldn't beat winthrow at footlocker. He could only handle perfect conditions on a track, not xc. Too much of a running diva in high school.
I think NP blows them out of the water to be honest.

T-Rex, nice addition. That should be added to the options in the NP challenge generator thread.
What if you sub out Newbury's fifth for Nico in his senior year of hs?

It's a win-win for the T-Rex.

I like it. Newbury Park against the field.

When has NP run anything other than tracks on grass? They've run on the most pampered courses known to man.

This exactly. Footlocker is def harder
Woodward is not flat and Mt Sac is very hilly. Weird take

Plus Nico ran on those same courses as the NP team this year and did just fine on the grass and in the rain at NXN. And Colin was the 3rd runner and Appleford the 5th on that 2019 championship team.

I scored the best case scenario for NP as -
NP - 2-3-5-8-10 - 28
OG - 1-4-6-7-9 - 27 (Ritz - Solinsky - Rupp - Hall - Webb)
But as likely for Solinsky/Rupp to be 3-4 in this race if not higher.
