Hi all,
I'll be 45 years old (male) on race day in 2023 and just ran a 3:20:23 over the weekend. Any chance I could qualify to run Boston in 2023?
Thanks!

I don’t know you’re time qualifier, but your qualifying time is based on your age the day of the Boston marathon. Not your qualifying race age.
Whatever it is, always plan to run 5 minutes faster. 3:20 doesn’t sound nearly fast enough. Good luck.
Same age bracket, your time is 3:20 so must be under that, ideally 5mins to give you a good chance.

You've got to be under 3:20:00 for the 45-49M age group. So, unless they raise the qualifying standard, or you run another race at least 23 sec faster, you're not getting on that time. Even then, most years they lower it (1:00-5:00 min) after registration based on applicant demand, although they didn't for 2013 or 2022. You could run it through a charity or run again and chop off some time.
https://www.baa.org/races/boston-marathon/qualifyNo, you won't qualify with that time.
Too early to start thinking about the '23 cutoff? I ran :54 seconds under at the OKC Marathon in October. I didn't think much of it, but since this year's cutoff was 0, I'm thinking there may actually be a chance?
Well you might or you might not. Better not spend every moment thinking about this for some 250 days.
