There are several trees used as markers and there are several stakes that can be moved. It can easily be mistaken if it goes inside our outside of some trees. The gravel stream crossing could get washed out. It is far from a permanent course. Go there on a weekend and it is full of soccer games and picnics and no sign of a course.
No. The turns are marked by cement columns in the ground capped by a small square. Not easily seen and not easily moved. The paths over the creek have never been washed out as far I know, and the idea that people are running inside the trees on turns is ridiculous. All the markers are designed so that a mower can go over the top so the course is invisible when not in use… because it’s a public park.
More lost credibility. At this point there are two people who know more about the Hunt course than I do, and they aren’t posting here. As far as I can tell the others who now a “lot” about the course aren’t posting here either. Those posting here appear to be people who went to races at Hunt and are convinced the course is set up the same way every time. That’s useful knowledge and we’ve already used that in the analysis, but it’s hardly enough to declare an accurate course measurement.
