That vlog was painful to watch. The cringeworthy moment just past the 6:00 mark shows me that the man has the same understanding of exercise physiology as the average Runner's World magazine reader. He needs to get a real coach or this attempt is also going to end in failure.
DGR fan boys can spare us the usual rebuttals. Your boy has no clue and that is glaringly apparent. If you want to help him, implore him to hire a knowledgeable coach.
"Once you get past the 2 hour mark in the marathon you have to deal with lactic acid"
No Seth, you really don't.
Incredible if true. Imagine all the 3, 4, 5 hour marathoners running with lactic acid for hours on end.

After watching one video, I have absolutely no faith whatsoever that this guy can provide any reliable information about anything running related. I'm honestly surprised he has a following.
I randomly watch a video of him reviewing a power meter foot pod. Throughout the video he acknowledges that he literally did no research to understand what the device does or how it is suppose to work. He simply threw it on his shoe, went for a run, and then uploaded the data, apparently improperly, to his phone. He concludes the video by stating his doesn't really understand the information.
2:17:30 isn't happening, he is just setting a goal to make the OT because like anybody else, if he doesn't he's gonna wonder forever if he could've did it if he tried.
I hope he does actual legit road marathon training this time and drops his ignorant mad scientist approach. He is so behind on actual marathon running knowledge it's quite embarrassing.
I already know the excuses for when he completely misses his goal time:
1. Jet lag and lack of knowledge of how long to be in Europe to adapt to the time zone change
2. Nutrition/GI issues will still be something he hasn't solved
3. Too much time in the mountains vs on the roads at marathon pace

1. I was faster than Seth in high school.
2. I was faster than Seth at CU, and made the team as a walk-on my freshman year.
3. I was faster than Seth after college, in prehistoric shoes, during an era that nobody, such as nobodies such as myself would put ourselves online for whatever reason.
4. There's absolutely zero chance Seth runs 2:17.30.
Jealous much?

Nailed it. And don't forget a 5th kid is on the way... the guy is slowing going to fall into the abyss.
To be a mad scientist, you must first possess some scientific knowledge.
Vegas has him at 5/1 which seems right. Seems like a cool guy and hope he does it.

5000000/1 odds
fixed it for you.
