Also add dumbbell weights in one hand gradually to strengthen them (using the other for balance). Gradual is key.
Another neat tip is to find a kitchen counter with a protruding edge under which you can insert your fingers and push it upward. It’s equivalent to holding weight but you can use both hands for support as well as weight and adjust the “weight” with the upward pressure.

Heel lifts.
Also, heat your Achilles before runs and ice them afterwards.
