That’s 2 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.

I've run in NB, Saucony and Puma super shoes. They all aggravate a recurring issue I've had with my left kneecap that I generally had out to be with a couple of other non-super shoe NBs.
They might be worth it for the occasional race, but otherwise I'm staying away.
Also, Rojo's time is decent. But I would expect nothing less from the meanies of LR.
GameStop? Cringe

I guess I don't understand what jogging/shuffling three miles proves?
The performance benefits are already proven. That's not what rojo is trying to do. He's doing a first impression.
Hello everyone. Sorry I had to drive 90 minutes for Thanksgiving and back. It would have been a big ask to ask my wife to drive so I could post on the forum when she took care of our son most of Thanksgiving while I blabbed away.
Anyway, I loved the feel of the shoes so much I wore them to Thanksgiving. Why in the hell doesnt someone make these shoes for office work? I"m serious. I've never felt a shoe like this before.
Any shoe execs on here? I'll start my own company. We'll make it for casusal wear. Not for running.

And somehow —despite loudly railing against the shoes for years— ROJO never tried them out. Never bought Wejo a pair, never bough Jonathan a pair. Think about that. Every running journalist on the planet has already given them a try and written articles on them.
ROJO -curator of arguably the most important running news source- waits 4 years and even then only tries them out due to being given a free pair.
I think this perfectly sums up this site.
Wrong.
Does a journalist need to try cocaine to write about the cartels? To try steroids to write about Balco? One could ague it's better if I don't try them as my personal opinion shouldn't matter - the facts on a whole should.
A few years ago, I was watching the Abu Dhabi Marathon on tv. The moment it finished I thought to myself, "That race was short." I didn't need to be there. I could tell by the splits.
Same thing with the marathon times.
Ps. I'm pretty sure I'll break 3:00 if I train.
Everyone on letsrun loves to pretend that they might deign to warm up at 6 min mile pace, and their easy pace starts at 5:30.
Rojo’s time is surprisingly good for someone who barely runs. He must have residual talent, hence the seething anger and jealousy from the usual crowd. Someone should accuse him of doping now for the authentic letsrun experience.
I want to see the dog. This is easily the best post rojo has done in ages. If he stuck to cute dog stroller miles, happy shoe reviews, and impromptu still got it workouts and left out the fanning of racism and Covid denialism this site would be loads better.

Incredible!
If Rojo is exaggerating even 20%, this shows you what a ridiculous advantage people get from bouncing along in a race. Imagine the advantage as the distances get longer.
Whoever doesnt think these are cheater shoes is delusional.
I have been saying this for 4 years. You, me and everyone run because of the plate. I have experienced. This is just a fact. That bouncy feeling is unreal. First time I put it on, just standing and I felt like the shoes wanted to jump.

Michael Pollan became credible to me after I read the part in "The Omnivore's Dilemma" where he described hunting and gathering all the food he needed to put together a meal he could serve to guests. He even hunted a wild boar.
Shoes that sell for $250 have been the talk of the running world for the past 4 years and you only get around to trying on a pair a day or two ago ?
Founding and maintaining letsrun means you and your brother are held to a higher standard. The two of you should be gurus of all things running.
Your credibility has been diminished.
The beauty of this is I cannot tell for sure whether this is pure trolling on Rojo’s part. The video is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. The guy appears to be serious but then you’re like, can he really be serious? Of course the shoes help but the reaction is so over the top that it appears not entirely credible yet he seems serious. Probably his best post ever but not sure whether I am laughing at him or with him. 10/10.
People like reactions. Rojo you need to make a thumbnail for the video with your reaction face superimposed over the opening scene.
Wait - Rojo, do you wear shoes inside?
Fascinated by people/cultures who don’t remove their shoes in someone’s home. What’s it like?
Because they are a bunch of bitter, 18 minute 5k incels who have nothing better to do with their lives.

Exactly - I was chuckling and smiling throughout the video. I had even thought about the possibility that Rojo had been inebriated a bit. Anyway, good job Rojo! I liked your crazy video. This comes from not that much younger middle aged runner that had tried super shoes for the first time just a few weeks ago. I did not have your reaction, but I was astounded, to be honest. I had logged more than 100 000 miles in my life, and ran in several hundreds pairs of running shoes (I had even been a running shoe tester for several magazines/websites for a few years in my prime), but supercritical gas filled foam, which feels great by itself, in combination with carbon plate, is a real deal. My estimate is that it could improve marathon times by 3 -8 minutes. More if you are a slower runner.

Actual race results are much more interesting than hypothetical ones. Let's see you do it!

This is incredible logic. I honestly cannot tell if this is all a massive Kaufman-esque troll or not; given you're an Ivy leaguer, I --rather optimistically-- lean toward the former.
Anyway, being a fan of the sport, I went and bought the shoes the moment they came out. I wrote a review. In it I tracked heart rate across various paces and compared real vs perceived effort. I compared my evidence to official studies. I talked about the history of shoes and the trends that have defined them. It's not a great article but it's encompassing. And it was fun to do. IMO, this is what you do when you love a sport, rather than shouting at the clouds. You guys have significant resources and pull in the industry-- you might have been able to pull together your own study. Little legitimacy certainly wouldn't hurt your image!
Guessing he has the Alphafly's, Vaporfly's are not so loud.
Is this truly recent? Why is it uploaded into 2015/04/ directory on the letsrun.com website? A conspiracy minded person might think you ran this 6.5 years ago. Regardless, glad you are having fun with your new shoes!
